With all of the talk of Suarez or others the one thing Rooney would add it a bit of muscle up front. Giroud is, imo, just too slow and technically poor for us. A younger Drogba or Ibrahimovic would be better, but at atm Id go for Rooney.
Why don't you get Wenger to put a £40mil bid in, you won't get him anyway so it's worth showing your 'muscle' in the financial stakes!
We need more than Rooney. We needed 3/4 major additions in May and we still need 3/4 major additions after week 1. Even if we were to secure Rooney or Fellaini or Suarez it's still not enough unless they all come, and even then I'd have to question why not sooner...
If we signed Suarez, Rooney and Fellaini and you where still questioning the transfer window then there will be no outcome that pleases you
Not true. Signing those three and getting rid of the deadwood that we have would represent an excellent transfer window, but in an ideal world they would have come weeks ago and be fully familiarised with everything Arsenal by now, our season could already be seriously damaged by the time they come. Those three players play for clubs who all had managers in place in May/June, if we are in for any of them it's simply unacceptable that we were unable to complete deals until the back end of August. AW also suggested earlier in the Summer that the number of vacant managers positions was the reason for lack of transfer activity...
I'm not an Arsenal fan (Watford as it happens) but would have to agree with that and certainly that is the way most of my Arsenal supporting mates are talking at the moment. I think they're just frustrated that again there's been no statement of intent to kick on and that it might end up being 2011 all over again where there's a lot of perceived panic buys. I think it's a shame actually as, like most neutrals, I like Arsenal both for what they do on the field in terms of their play and, historically, off the field.
1. Lewandowski - Could still be sold. Dortmund dont want to sell to Bayern or let him go on a free. 2. Rooney - Just think Wenger would get the best out of him. 3. Suarez - Would be expensive and Liverpool are going to make it very hard to sign him. 4. Eto'o - 32 years old but I think he has a couple of years at the TOP level left. Still a great finisher.
