Let's take it for granted that the players that are farmed out will not come back and certainly not figure in Pearson's plans.

Yes, we are doing okay, we are in 7th and that is credible after our poor start; having a game in hand, on some, is a Brucie Bonus we need to use wisely!

We have not spent a fortune (on players!) and we know the owners have made a commitment to support the manager if we are looking like promotion contenders. So how much would it take, who would we look to replace and with whom; or should we leave it as it is and expect the strike-force to hit pay-dirt – let’s face it, they have hit the woodwork aplenty so it would not take much.

West Ham will see us a third of the way home; a critical phase that should have shown our strengths and our weaknesses; so do we stick or do we gamble – name s on the back of a postcard (or just post on here if it’s easier!

Stick or bust eh? Well that's how Manangers earn their money when owners dangle cash and you have a winning team out there.
But successful teams never stop adding to the mix and I think we will get players in in Jan.

I've a feeling Liverpool might have a look at Gulacsi's situation in January and if he's not playing games they might recall him, Tottenham did it with Bostock last year and he was playing a lot more than Gulacsi has. If they do we'll need another 'keeper.

I still think we need another centre back. If you look at CB and RB together we have Chester, Hobbs and Rosenior and then McShane is the sole cover for both positions. We have to get someone else in as cover because it's a miracle none of the first choice ones have got injured yet.

In midfield I think we have enough with Koren, Cairney, Evans and McKenna. Garcia and Stewart coming back will mean we have 4 capable wingers too. Up front we have room for one more, but that's all it is IMO. Room for one. There isn't a massive need for one, but like most teams if a really good one became available we should take the opportunity (and I'm sure we would).

In short we need a CB and we may end up needing another 'keeper. A striker would be welcome but not needed as such.

Completely agree, we need a little more cover at CB for my liking, a tidy youngster on loan would do. If we lose the lad back to liverpool then a GK is a must, however think liverpool will let us keep him, at least he has a chance of playing here

I honestly think we will hammer West Ham they are an utter disgrace, when I mention the name ' Carlos Tevez ' you will probarbly discover why. They might aswell be called the amature Manchester City ( because they think they can buy the title. UTT 4-0 city Fryatt, Mc Lean x 2, Rosenoir

I certainly agree that CB is a position where we need better cover; McShane is there and is a good player to have up our sleeve, but we do not have the depth when things get tough. It is a fact that we are now enetering into a phase were we can expect more injuries - the CB partnership has been the bedrock of our performances and one change there can really upset out form. To be fair, everything that NP has done would make you 100% certain he is more than aware of that - he does seem to have an excellent sense of priorty over show-boating for the fans.
I would be disappointed to see Oli move on; we need his talents and influence at the club. We saw in the PL just how influential and solid he could be and any investment in using him would have a big return, IMO.
Waghorn needs more time, but we must put pressure on strikers to score goals - that, as far as I am concerned, is their prime purpose in life. We know we have been unlucky in hitting the woodwork and all of the other (reasonable) excuse, but sonner or later, we must expect the goals to come.
I think we have every right to be optimistic and look for automatic promotion, but just like genius and insanity, it is a fine line between a euphoric rise and a inglorious plummet - the key is strengthening and not letting mediocriy become a way of life - our ambition must drive the club. UTT <cheers>

How long has Oli got left on his contract? Maybe he'd agree to a wages drop, in exchange for an extension (a bit like Kilbane did)?

2 seasons incl. this one i think. ends summer 2013 ?. but i agree Oli can help the team no end.

Oli was doing ok until Tango man lost the plot when Oli went to the African Nations tournament in 2010. Oli came back to the naughty step and oblivion. Oli needs to feel wanted to perform. NP would be crazy not to give Oli a chance at least. imo.
