... the kids wanted to get a film out over the weekend and partly due to the fact that I have 3 daughters plus the other half, I tend to lose the vote on such things. The inevitable happened and we ended up watching the new "Mamma Mia" ... Sunshine On Leith... which is set in Edinburgh and features songs by The Proclaimers. It wasn't the best film ever tbf but nevertheless I did find it enjoyable, not least as I quite like some of their songs and wondered how the script would fit them into the story line etc. On to the point of the thread - amongst my favourites is the title song Sunshine On Leith ... which I enjoyed hearing again to the extent I searched for it later on Youtube ... and came across this ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPXCNwBu_t8 Now I had no idea about all of this but it is bloody impressive ... particularly the chorus behind Stephen Fletcher who was then a Hibs player ... ... and hence the title to this thread ... we could really do with something unique that is ours and also sounds bloody wonderful when sung by the massed ranks ...
We have one - admittedly one that isn't sung regularly. One to request from the new singing section. "...and Leicester, and Leicester, and Leicester!!!"
Just found this as well
Queenie when your shower of **** come to our place we will have a special song just for you lot. It goes like this "We will never play you again"
What about words to sing to Elton John but we sing at the end. " AND I GUESS THAT'S WHY THEY CALL US THE BLUES" just need to put the rest of the verse together!!
Not a bad shout ... and not a bad tune ... but they don't really call us 'the blues' ... I think Brum would have a better claim ... but keep 'em coming ... We could take the Yilvis song for the rest of the season ... "What does the Fox Say" .... and with Queenie and the Dramas in mind follow that particular line with: "Mind M M Mind Mind, Mind The Gap"
