It's all very well buying quality strikers etc but if we have nobody to provide for them then they will be useless.

Out of the playoff teams last season most had top end Championship wingers :

Qpr - Routledge
Swansea - Sinclair and Dyer
Forest - Plenty of fast players
Cardiff - Bellamy and Burke
Reading - McAnuff and Kebe

Currently we have Dyer who Is till think we should keep eventhough speculation he could move on.
Gallagher is a luxury type player. Very skillfull but no pace.
Vassel has lost half a yard of pace and his best games have always been up front for us.

So who is available? Who would you want us to sign?

Players I would like include:

Kebe
Gradel
Routledge
Rommedahl (linked to us today to my horror!)
Whittingham

I think it depends what foramtion we play. If we stick to 4-3-3, which I think we will, then we could get away with players like Nugnet, Gallagher, Vassell drifting inside and getting more involved in play and using the full-backs to provide the width.

But if we're gonna go 4-4-2, then I think a winger should be signed.

I would try and get Naughton and try him as a winger. After him Routledge and Kebe would be top of my list

We tried playing strikers on the wig last season and it didn't work!

Rommedahl is getting slower and slower and all he can do is run fast...

Yes but the difference would be that they would only be wide when we are without the ball but when we're attacking they would cut inside and get more involved in the play and full-backs would be used to provide the width rather than telling the strikers to actually play as orthodox wingers like Vassell did last season.

Also, the lack of wingers that we're being linked to shows that Sven is probably looking to play this way also.

Chris McCann at Burnley would be a great signing. He was injured last season and his contact is due to expire so he has slipped under the radar but he would be a cracking signing.
