We need a striker (or two)

    Following on from yesterdays top 5 list of Euro strikers it seems as though we're pretty much out of the running for a few of them for various reasons

    1. Falcao, Porto - probably heading to Chelski on his boss' coattails
    2. Rondon, Malaga - still up for grabs, can Sanchin0 have a word?
    3. Edinson Cavani, Napoli - raised too much of a laugh, so who'd want this joker
    4. Andre Schurrle, Bayer Leverkusen - bit pricey for a youngster - doesn't fit the mould
    5. Moussa Sow, Lille - still possible, need HBA to give him a bell and talk him into it

    So there is a requirement to move on to those who never quite made Matty Briggs' Top 5:

    6. Jelle Vossen - just missed out on a Top5 spot (and will keep OT quiet)
    7. Jay Bothroyd - wow a surprise here, being fought over if you believe the news, looks like he could be heading to the mighty QPR though
    8. Welliton - the prolific Brazilian, top scorer in the Russian league and not touted by Cwarr07 as a possible signing, meaning he could be a possible signing
    9. James Perch - WOW, an even bigger surprise here (but one that Cwarr is a Bell End assures me is correct, are you reading this Real Madrid?) our versatile defender making the list of Europes elite strikers

    and just about scraping into the top 10 to complete the list

    10. The enigma that is the EPL's top scorer (shared) and golden boot winner (shared), long time NUFC admirer, devaluing quicker than a BMW off the forecourt and general casual slacker Dimitar Berbatov ..

    There we go folks .. plenty to chat about and I'm sure there are some which you think should be on this list instead .. but take that to Matty Briggs .. <ok>

    Those ten can be divided into three groups: The ones I don't know; the ones I don't rate; and the ones who won't come.

    I wouldn't mind Sturridge for a sensible price if Chelsea get Falcao and decide he's surplus. I think we just need one more striker, and hopefully get rid of Xisco and maybe Ranger as well.

    Also Vossen would be pretty good, same with Sow, but I'm not sure on anyone else

    He'd be as good as a striker as he is a defender. Might even surprise us and be better as a striker.

    No chance for Andre Schurrle as he's just joined Leverkusen from Mainz.

    I can't see Sow leaving for anything but CL football as he'll have it at Lille next season.

    That leaves Rondon and Vossen... I'd be sated :)

    He'd scored a bullet header for us last year. If he'd been playing up front it would've been at the right end. <ok>
