We need a pacy forward to get top 10 next season

I think we should put in a cheeky bid for Victor Obinna or someone like that to play up the top off big Shola. We need to be able to get in behind defences more often and hopefully with HBA on the wing with Jonas the other side we should be able to keep pushing on in the league with 1 or 2 decent signings and hopefully getting Enrique tied down.

I'd rather get a NEW big striker AND a new pacey one. Shola and Best as backups.

 

With Ben Arfa coming back he should give us a fair bit of pace, plus we're being strongly linked with Gervinho, and I think if we can then get a good target man we could definitely get top 10 with our midfield/attack like this:

Obinna is too inconsistent and doesn't score enough goals

 

Nolan wont be dropped though, even though its becoming clear its time he should be replaced by a more technical, younger model.

 

Not this season no, but hopefully Pardew will realise that if we want to move forward we need someone more creative.

 

I would in all honesty, expect Shola to still be up there next season. Can't knock the lad, hes been good to us and would do anything for the club even if isnt the most technically gifted player his hold up play is really good.

Can't see Obinna & Shola striking fear into defences. We need a first class striker who scores goals for fun.

My thoughts exactly...

 

IMO Best & *New Striker* would be my personal options. Best is technically better than Ameobi and more effective than Lover, meanwhile our bright talent for the future Ranger definitely needs a good year or so in the Championship so he can start scoring goals.

My ideal situation IF POSSIBLE would be :

Sell Shola & Lover - Getting old, inconsistent, frustrating to watch many times & if we have ambitions of being a consistent top 10 team challenging for Europe then we need to get rid of them both if possible this summer before there contracts run out or there market value decreases. Oh and obviously get rid of Kuqi, no more than a average Championship target man.

Keep Best & Ranger as back-ups/3rd/4th choice if possible - They've both been a breath of fresh air this year, especially Best who keeps improving and keeps getting better per match, certainly looking capable enough to warrant a place in the squad next season. Same could be said about Ranger, potentially he can be a very good PL striker, he's quick, strong, direct and can be quite a handful when coming on for tired legs in the last 20 mins or so.. always useful to have that option off the bench, a ''proper'' impact sub, not convinced he's ready to be a starter next season though, he'll get his chances though and if he keeps working hard and improves aspects of his game(off and on the pitch) he'll be quite a player!

Buy 1 OR 2 strikers - Desperately needed, someone with REAL pace(ala Lennon/Ashley Young if possible) and a technically adept striker from aboard(Van Wolfswinkel/Germeio/Gervinho/etc..).

NEW ST, NEW ST, Best, Ranger, Airey/Samuel Ameobi?

That's my opinion though.. but one or both of the ageing strikers have to go in the summer(Shola or Lover).

Don't think Lukaku's realistic, all the top teams are after him so he'll probs end up at Real Madrid or Chelsea or something

 

People need to be realistic with who we can really sign with the muppets who are up in the boardroom. I wouldnt really pen in anyone too fancy. My personal ideal signings would be Sturridge if possible for 10-12mill or maybe Agbonlahor for 8-10mill. I'd take Obinna all day for 6-7mill, hes a really gifted player in my opinion great on the ball. We'll more than likely end up with N'gog or Bothroyd though.
