I really love the prospect of Aarons, but we can't hope he'll be fit for a full season, and he's better coming on as an impact sub while developing. We don't want to overwork the lad.

We seriously need someone on the wing with pace and the ability to beat a man and whip in a decent ball.

IF we manage to pull of the Vieira signing, that should inspire players like Austin to come to us, but these players NEED service.

I feel sorry for anyone criticised while playing in the CF position at Newcastle because they get ****ing **** service most games.

Any suggestions? I kind of like the look of the Matt Philips from QPR.

Philips would be cheap and he had a good amount of assists and goals last season in a poor team. I think a winger is lost in the cardew system, but if vieira comes in and goes 4-3-3, its a new game and that should be a top priority. Bellarabi.

If we had any ambition, as has been stated, we'd sign someone like Bolasie. I think it's a symptom of the last few years that people are so prepared to go dumpster diving at QPR, Austin, Fer, Philips... Wouldn't touch any of them with a barge pole. Better than some of what we have, probably, but honestly not good enough if we want to actually progress, rather than consolidate lower mid-table with average churny boys.

No offence to Austin, but he reminds me of a few players, most recent being a certain Steven Fletcher. Scores a few goals for a **** team, everyone has him in the FF team as he's cheap as **** and scoring points, but in reality will always struggle when he's got a better class of competition.

Matt Philips - not sure, but, being one of the best players in a ****e team doesn't make him a good player, just better than the ****e around him.

Yoan Gouffran! He is very highly rated in the Pardew book of wingers ..any takers? ..anyone?

Totally agree with you re Aarons and not over using him..plus his contract renewal is up and not going anywhere fast I thought? So whether he will be still with us next year is an open question.

Philips looked good against us, haven't seen enough of him outside of MoTD highlights and with QPR that was often a 3 minute throwaway last in the schedule a lot of the time. Bolaise as JPF mentions would be good, but too rich, for what you get, for Mikey's pockets I suspect
