I take it we didn't sign Proschwitz to be our hit man because he can't header for ****e. He seems more of a goal poacher. For the last 3 Seasons, this side has been crying out for a big hit man that can hold the ball up and win an aerial battle. At the moment, we only have Elmohamady who can win a header - and obviously Abdoulaye Faye but he's in defence.

We had a failed attempt at Adebola but what did Pearson expect with him really... <doh>

Anybody else reckon we need a big man?

Proschwitz isn't too bad running onto crosses but we either bang it high when we have midgets on or smash it on the decks when prosser comes on

That being said, I'd be ecstatic if we could prise mickail-smith from Peterborough

I thought Proschwitz looked good when he came on. As for heading ability, didn't he score an injury time pearler with his noggin,a few games ago ? Did he miss a chance to head a goal yesterday ? I don't remember one, unless you mean the cross he didn't get to,that's not the same, noone would have reached that.

Now were getting some fantastic crosses into the box we dont have the player to cash in on them, but would playing a big man result in a more direct style ?

I think all of our strikers would improve playing alongside Charlie Austin. Prozzy did ok when he came on. Had a go at Elmo when he made a good near post run and Elmo put it to the far post.

Simmo has done really well as the target man but yesterday they were far too physical for him. Brucey can see Prozzy isnt go to play up on his own, not physical either. Maybe he needs to go 4-4-2, Simmo and Prozzy with Aluko and Quinny wide from the start. Quinn's a great crosser of the ball. Rosy isnt.

With that lot you could play Evans/Mckenna with Meyler and give Koren a kick up the arse. I dont mind him bottling 50/50's but he was bottling out when they were 60/40 in his favour.

That would be a bit hard since he plays for Brighton.

He did score with a header, but he wasn't exactly challenged and he didn't need to jump for it. Prossy is a great player from what I've seen so far, I'm not slating him, I'm just saying he's not a target man and has quite poor heading ability for someone of his height. I remember yesterday he had a completely unchallenged header and he didn't even header it then. It seems we have 3 strikers who are goal poachers (Simmo, Prossy and McLean) with Aluko who can just score from wherever and whenever he wants.

I can't help but feel that we miss that "Plan B" big man to throw in amongst the more physical sides or to change a game as an impact sub.

God, so would I, he must be one hell of a player to be able to play for 2 sides. On that basis, get him Brucey, he then would be able to play for 3 sides!

Prozzy was supposed to be the lone striker. What was missing from last seasons excellent side was a lone striker. If we had had Lambert last season we would have got automatic promotion.

The kraut has not produced the goods and Bruce had to change the formation to fit the players he had. That is why we are where we are.

I think you'll find he didn't miss or refuse to head that chance at all. Sometimes crosses are just out of a players reach. Even Peter Crouch's reach. I think Proschwitz's problem is down to lack of pitch time, but then that has been down to the form of Simmo and Aluko,so fair play to them.

I thought Austin looked pretty handy yesterday, but he'd cost a packet. I'd be having a look at Davies at Barnsley or Davies at Bristol. We could really do with someone coming in January already aware of exactly what the Championship is all about. For me that is someone currently playing in it.

So the fact we were getting told in pre-season that Bruce wanted to get us playing the current formation, and then went out and signed Elmo and Quinn once the existing players weren't doing it well enough doesn't make you think that maybe it was the plan all along to bring in the players to allow us to do it?

Whitehurst didn't have Prossy's natural ability but he'd go for a 50/50 with a double decker bus.. THAT is what we need.. Chris Wood is braver and so is the Cardiff player who beat flappy Amos the other week..

    Correct.

I think Elmo was brought in to replace Stewart and Quinn to provide balance on the left after Brady and King went back.

I think it became obvious to Bruce pretty quickly that the kraut couldn't hack it and that he then had to go with what he had.

Craig Davies would be the best value for money in the Championship at the moment.

He missed the two best chances we had and he didn't win a single header. It's not his heading to goal that was the issue yesterday, just the fact that at 6'3" he didn't actually win any headers at all.

Prossie need to take a leaf out of our favourite striker Nicola Zigic's book, yes he's a dirty twat but if he's playing for us he needs to hussle, elbow and get his head bloody.. that way he'll endear himself to the punters.. at least..

I find it a little concerning that you say you want a big man, and then the Stokie turns up asking us where to find the hard men in Hull. What's this site becoming?

Was Prossie a waste of money ? Can't judge myself as I haven't seen him play enough ...
