http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JD2bxNPme7Y Killed my industry for a long time, but,,,, killed a lot of folks,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,for what? anybody who dont have a tear in their eyes must be hard bastards, Harder than me. never forget. I WONT NEVER. For sure the families involved will never forget, and we can do nothing to help them. The olyimpics are bound to be the next target. And for all the do gooders in this world, if one of yours gets snuffed, will you still be on the side of the under privilliged terrorist?
I know I'll never Bill as I was there 24 hours before heading to London & just being able to get out of LHR at the actual time.
What a lucky man you were, if you didnt, I would have never have had the privillege of knowing you. WELL GLAD.
Thanks Bill. As you know I travel quite a bit & even to this day when I’m alone at an airport I have an intense irrational time worrying about the flight I’m about to take. I think of nothing but my family & returning to them in a box. I’ll pm you sometime but I’ve never been so scared in my life as when on the Heathrow Express to get one of the last flights out of London before it was closed for a couple of days. My heart was racing so fast & I couldn’t stop shaking. Everywhere you looked the silence made it even more frightening. I just wanted to get to my next destination safe. Silly when you consider what that those whom have served in the armed forces have experienced to keep the likes of me safe. Friends in NY to this day look skywards towards Battery Park at all times of the day in quiet remembrance. I should add that I now find NYC one the safest places on earth with a Cop on EVERY street corner.
Whatever possessed a man from a privileged background and a devout Muslim to cynically choose an undefended target to spread a message of hate is beyond comprehsion. We still have the aftermath to deal with but the disease of him acting in the name of Islam will live a long time yet unfortunately. One benefit the UK got from it was that it killed off the IRA which had been benefiting from deluded American Irish financial support.
I'd just like to add that our home office and more specifically our police force get a hell of a lot of criticism from the population, a lot of it is deserved, most of it is down to political red-tape. What goes unnoticed though is the hard work that goes on by police staff behind the scenes, who work alongside intelligence agencies and the armed forces to keep our country safe in the war against terror. Nobody can accuse our country of being ill-prepared when it comes to this but because most of it goes unreported and never enters open source, the population are oblivious to most of this work. I was sent a link to a video from my friend in Miami, he said when he watches it whenever he feels his life is getting him down (can't imagine it's too often considering his hometown!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7OcSFF84vg
