He nearly got his tactics right tonight except Philips was muck and Harry still hasn't realised that Barton is NOT and NEVER will be a DCM.

Two wide players with pace to contain/trouble their full backs was understandable IMO. We learned once and for all that Philips in particular is sh•te. Hoilett works hard but has no end product. Mutch needs more games before I can rate him but he must improve fast.
Vargas has also not lived up to his early promise although playing a small man alone up front (against Distan & Jageilka) will never work .
    Barton as a DCM............suicidal

I watched him from start to finish tonight and every other minute he's played yet I still haven't a notion as to what position he's in when he plays. Its most bizarre.

I'm also extremely worried that we may have forked out 8 million(?) for a crock of sh*te

I tend to agree mate, just have no idea what this bloke is supposed to do or where he's supposed to be doing it?

It could be that our middle 2 have no plan and that would explain his absence during the game. I dont know. Im certainly not convinced right now but he's been out for a bit so maybe we should give him a chance to prove himself !

It's either Fer or Mutch or Henry or Barton. Harry is trying to cover one position with two players.

We can't keep relying on home wins, even against relegation rivals. The law of averages says we'll come unstuck. They have Berahino who could give our static backline a torrid time. And the Palace game after that is even more of a banana-skin...

Our away form IS terrible, but all 8 matches have been against teams who currently occupy top ten positions in the league. Hopefully, once we start to play those teams around us we will start to pick up points away from home, whilst maintaining our current home form, starting with a goid win on Saturday!!

Could be worse guys, barring a miracle Leicester will be bottom on Christmas Day, and we all know thats a bad omen!

We lost tonight BUT .............. we'll win on Saturday. Another 3 points to move us up a little further.
Can someone order some laxatives for the Burnley team, they are hampering our push up the table.

Spot on. The pressure on our home games will become intolerable. I'd take 4 points from Palace and WBA right now.

Krancjar has to play, always, in my view. We have no guile, surprise or elegance without him. Just look at that pass which set up our second goal against Burnley, we have absolutely no one else who can do that.

True, kranky can make something out of nothing ............... when we are lacking in strikers, we need a 'go to' player to instill a little bit of magic.

It should be a good match and hopefully we can repeat the recent run of results from Leciesterand Burnley.

If we can win our next two home game (WBA and Burnley) then I will be pleased with our 1st semester of this season.

Agreed, but if Vargas and Fer are nailed on to play in the midfield, who should the other two be? I think that Hoilett deserves to start again and the other should be Henry.

henry must play. Fer looks lively too. Hoilett always looks dangerous (despite his lack of end product and dreadful shooting). Defences look nervous when he runs at them..thats good. Vargas also must start for me...hes an intelligent footballer with energy and spark.

    my line up for saturday.

    Green
    Isla / Dunne / Caulker / Yun.
    Henry
    Vargas / Fer / Hoilett
    Austin
    Zamora

I know Bartons not playing well so i've left him out - however. Midfield looks a bit lightweight i suppose. Maybe Brton for Hoilett for more stability.

So...have i just set us up for a 4 - 0 reverse at home or what?

..... that is what happens when you write a post before rushing to a meeting!

But I will take the same result as Burnley (minus the red card!)
