We know that for us, our path to FA Cup glory lies in the form of Sess and Macca and both players have become absolutely essential to our future success.

We know that whatever the personnel deployed, like Colback and Gardener as midfield or defenders; central defender changes or others, this is a real football team we are watching these days, not a collection of individuals.

We know that on our day, we are capable of winning against anyone. We also know that days like WBA and Blackburn do still hover though. That said, they are fewer and further away than they were.

Tuesday night is one of the most important games in our recent history and I cannot emphasise how vital a positive result is for us. Win and I think the Mon era will ignite beyond our wildest dreams. It's already surpassed what even a Mon devotee such as myself could have even dreamed of but a Wembley appearance v Liverpool would offer massive exposure and the prospect of an FA Cup final in a season that once threatened relegation, is nothing short of a miracle.

Everton offer the hardest of tests and opponents and the game is far from won but they are not invincible and without one of their best attacking players in Piennar, we can do it.

We know we are good enough; we know we have game changing and match winning individuals; we know the manager is top class and we know our fans will be a 12th man.

What we need is fate to be on our side and history to record our success for all.

If the result was 0-0 would we go through on away goal advantage?

I think it will be a very close game.

But I'm sure the team will 'turn up' ... and we'll have a very good game on our hands...

Being Sunderland supporters however...... it pays to be cautious in our hopes and dreams !

I don't think there will be a host of goals in a very tight game but the first goal will be vital. We will have to take the game to them but we also have be patient too.

Everton are a good solid outfit but they are not unbeatable. Moyes is a good manager but can't touch our little genius.

Individually they are no better and in Sess and McClean we have real match winners.

    It's our time.

    Isn't it?

One game at a time! But if we do get past Everton, I fancy us to beat 'pool!

There are a lot of similarities with 1973. Okay we were a division lower then but at the start of the season we couldn't put two passes together and, unsurprisingly, were near the bottom of the table. A new manager came in around the turn of the year and we just went from strength to strength from there. We finished up in 6th place and FA Cup winners. Well 6th maybe a bit ambitious but we can still win the cup.

Just happy to be in the quarter finals lads I always thought the FA cup finished after the third round.

Sorry about this but I have printed out the route planner to Wembley and checked car parking, £27.00 at the stadium, could not help myself.

Not forgetting Everton had a very good away win at Swansea.....................

There is nowt between the two teams.....

The Sunderland of yesterday will go through, the Sunderland from Blackburn will get destroyed.

I don't think away goals count in the fa cup.

This one is so tight I can see it going to pens!
