Barring the very first game of the season, we have really struggled to get goals away to the other teams in the league. This is pretty worrying because if we cannot do it against Premier League teams then it might be even harder to do it next season in the Europa League, and then ofcourse having jet lag and playing away with a just two days of recovery time. The midfielders really need to find a way of chipping in with the goals, our recent form may have shown that when Michu is not firing on all cylinders we seriously lack a goal threat. I hope ML finds a solution.
Yes, on away goals from the worst upwards we have: West Ham & Stoke - 9 Norwich - 12 Reading & Swansea - 13 But conversely, only Man U, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal & Liverpool have scored more goals than us at home.
I did notice the home goal tally as well, I was almost going to say our away goal tally should be 14 given that disallowed goal against West Brom but at the end of the day it would be nice to be in a position where we shouldn't have to mention it in correspondence to our lack of away goals this season.
We are crying out for a midfielder who can chip in with 7-10 goals a season. Hopefully along with bringing in another striker who can bag 15+ goals a season and Michu and we'll be okay. Need to see the wingers starting to add a few more goals as well.
We have one he is Michu as you say, what we need is 2 quality stikers so he can go back to what he does best.
Have they got that many goals aswan? Didn't realise that. Oh well then a winger with 10-15 goals then
No we dont need that chico, we need the manager to pull his finger out and get the players performing like we know they can do....
Why is it before i opened this thread and saw that dai was the last poster, I knew it was going to be negative and surprise surprise i was right. God forbid what he would be like if we were actually struggling. Why is dais glass always half full.
are you sure you are a supporter???? you sound like you dont care that we have been rubbish and second best for months.. some of us care you know and if laudrup is struggling then its time to go if we continue to be crap as the team comes first and not any individual.....some of us want to stay in this division for some time and dont want to end the season on a whimper.......
Bony thats what i meant and yes dai i am a true supporter and thats why i dont moan about the manager or the side and the first opportunity. Have a look at the teams below us, perhaps from Spurs down we should all sack the managers for failure to get to CL. Maybe I should question where your support lies, a true supporter as you say, would get behind the manger and the team instead of whinging.
Dai just thought you would like to see last years form. Being that you are saying how poorly ML is doing. This is how Rodgers did at the end of last season. 30 24.03.2012 Everton home L0-2 10 39 31 01.04.2012 Tottenham Hotspur away L1-3 11 39 32 06.04.2012 Newcastle United home L0-2 11 39 33 11.04.2012 Queens Park Rangers away L0-3 14 39 34 14.04.2012 Blackburn Rovers home W3-0 12 42 35 21.04.2012 Bolton Wanderers away D1-1 11 43 36 28.04.2012 Wolverhampton Wndrs home D4-4 12 44 37 06.05.2012 Manchester United L2-0 Wasnt the best end of season for either was it. Sorry, i forgot the last game of the season a win against liverpool. so thats 2 wins in 9. Or perhaps you would like to look at this period under Rodgers. 11 05.11.2011 Liverpool away D0-0 10 13 12 19.11.2011 Manchester United home L0-1 13 13 13 27.11.2011 Aston Villa home D0-0 13 14 14 03.12.2011 Blackburn Rovers away L2-4 14 14 15 10.12.2011 Fulham home W2-0 11 17 16 17.12.2011 Newcastle United away D0-0 12 18 17 21.12.2011 Everton away L0-1 14 18 18 27.12.2011 Queens Park Rangers home D1-1 14 19 19 31.12.2011 Tottenham Hotspur home D1-1 14 20 1 win in 9.
