due to a knee problem. Yet we signed Arteta without a medical test! Interesting ey! Source: http://www.aftonbladet.se/sportbladet/fotboll/internationell/england/article13749820.ab (swedish newspaper). Would have been nice to have Gourcuff ey?
Gourcuff is one of those frustrating players who, when he's good, is very good, but when he's not, he's very poor. Not worth the gamble imo
I find " Sedan dess har utvecklingen gått i en rasande takt och 25-åringen är numera en viktig del i Frankrike landslag och en nyckelspelare för Lyon. Det har återigen väckt proffsklubbarna i Europa. " Very interesting
The guy needs far too much time on the ball and therefore he would be lost in the prem. Our passing has already become slower so the last thing we needed was this guy. Also with his injury record it would have been a bad move.
Gourcuff could be an absolute world beater under Wenger. (Nasri was also famously inconsistant in france and never considered anywhere near as talented as Gourcuff) He's frustrating as hell at times but he's technically one of the most gifted midfielders around. At 25-26 he has to start performing and arsenal would be ideal. if wenger had been a little more brash in the market this could be our midfield: -------------------szezney------------------ sagna---mertesacker----vermaelen--santos ----------gourcuff---mvilla--wilshere---------- walcott-------------rvp-------------gervinho
No he couldn't. He was overhyped as a youngster and never lived up to expectations. He's not even rated in France anymore. A lot of people still live of his potential shown at Rennes, then he went to Milan and was shown to be nothing more than average. Since 2006 he's had one decent season and that was in the 08-09 season for Bordeaux. Never has someone rated French Player of the Year completely fell of the radar so quickly! After that season he suffered poor form at Bordeaux and has now completely lost it at Lyon. However he has just returned from surgery to an on-going ankle complaint, which maybe your right could mean he's worth a shot if that is the reason why he hasn't been able to replicate the form he once had. Although 4 clubs in 5 years seriously makes me wonder how he could of passed all those medicals had this injury been the reason for his inconsistancy. IMO there a far better players in Ligue 1 (and 2) that come with far less risk. I'd much rather gamble on Moussa Sissoko and return to a 4-4-2 with him partnering Wilshere than buy another AM and carry on with 4-3-3.
