It`s not exactly a novelty is it? Neither is it the end of the world. There have been plenty of posts about `Bruces legacy`. The fact remains that, for the most part it still is. I didn`t expect MON to work miracles but I did expect him to change more than he did. I still feel that he didn`t make the most of the time, windows, and money available. It doesn`t matter what anyone thinks now anyway. It`s done. imo we need a young, hungry manager with ambitions to match those Ellis Short seems to have. Whoever it is will need the courage to have a clearout and put `Bruces legacy` to bed once and for all. Anyway, we`re not down yet.
That's why we need a Poyet, Di Canio etc. A young hungry manager keen to do well. Both inexperienced at this level tho. I still expect to be in the EPL next season watching SAFC. I shall still be there watching SAFC long after the next managers gone as well.
Hope springs eternal. I`d love to see what Solskjaer could do, reckon he`d be the breath of fresh air we need
Can't believe your still blaming Bruce, alright some of them players he bought but the ones who have shone this season. Mingolet, Gardner were his and Bruce had these same players playing football that was 10 times better to watch than the dross we've played this season
We need the pope, Mourinho, Fergie and Messi, Bale and Ronaldo to keep us up!. And the blame goes back to Reid 11 years ago, the rebuilding will cost millions but if we get £50 m + t v money each season plus an average of 40,000 plus, two good cup runs, and hopefully european football, we would get the money back.
Nobody is suggesting they were all crap. What I am saying is the ones who were crap, are still crap, and, more importantly, still there. What I meant was we need a clearout at least so there`s nobody else to blame.
We will lose a good 12,000 to 15,000 off the gate in the Championship this time because all the old timers I know who have stood by them through the thinner than a catwalk model decades wont be going back to watch yet another season of 2nd tier football. I've served my lower league apprenticeship and its either EPL football or no football for a lot of dye hards now. Thrashing the likes of Bury, Doncaster or Stockport 5-0 every week holds absolutely no interest for me any more.
With the tv money and an end to parachute payments it's the worst ever season to get relegated but I think we'll stay up.
I know exactly what you mean. Most of us old`uns have been there before and it is very disappointing. 1). We are not relegated yet. 2). If we do we will bounce back. 3). If we can get through Mc Enema we can get through anything.
