Albeit a retired one, Steve Staunton who will join the coaching staff as "match assessor". Brucey must have a canny entourage behind him now. I wonder if his sole purpose is to tell bruce that richardson is not a left back. Would also be good if he could tell him there's better players playing 5 aside on a Sunday than elmohamady.

Give Steve a game. See how he goes.
Just as Richardson is not a left back, Elmo is a one trick pony on the right (that's if goalkeeper kicking the ball to the right wingers head is a trick)

Larson on the right
Vaughan on the left

Vaughan on the left would be truly dreadful from what I've seen of the lad. I'd prefer Ricco, Colback or even Wickham to start on the left.

I'm sorry I don't see the point of this addon to the wage bill.

Staunton was a canny footballer but this looks a strange appointment to me.

I dont undertand the point of this one, Match Assessor, why not just have Quinn relate stuff to him if he cant see everything pitch side, or even sit up in the stands himself for the 1st half so he gets a better view of whats going on, or if its after the match just watch a video of it.

Unless there is more to it than that, cant see what though, and will he even listen to him

"sess and gyan up front isnt working, richo is never a left back get him off"

"but but but.... its how i said i would play, and I am sticking to it, and richo will make a left back, mark my words"

"you have been saying that about richo for 2 bloody years, get him off"

"I am right, what the hell did I sign you for, bye"

And I am a Bruce in person, but if you cant have a laugh, whats the point.

So he gets paid for going to football matches and then coming back to Bruce and saying..

"Mind, that Tevez is a bit good", or

"Put the ball past Given and its probably a goal"

As I said before, can I have that job - never saw it in the Echo.

This seems more like a Quinn motivated appointment than one from Bruce. Quinn must know him well.

As a manager he was dire. He couldn't even find a suit that made him look like a boss. He was a complete failure at Darlington too, but that doesn't mean that he's igorant about the game. He's got enormous experience as a player and hopefully he can translate that to strategy and tactics which might help us.

I think it boils down to him buying a house up here when he got the Darlo job, and needing a mate in the game to give him a nice cushy quiet job to do while he lives in the house
