    ....we need some bloody goals!!!

It's fair enough strengthening the defence, but our main problem is putting the ball away at the other end.

We don't create enough chances and we don't score enough goals, but I fear our transfer budget is going to be squandered on a new back four, when the likes of Young, Ferdinand and Traore aren't half bad.

A creative midfielder (Krancjar please) and a proven Premiership goalscorer (I'd take Johnson) should be our priorities.

    This will do me....

    Kenny

    Young Ferdinand Onouha Taiwo

    SWP Barton Kranjcar Traore

    Taarabt

    A.Johnson

DISCLAIMER: I'm quite happy getting a new back four if it also means we get a new front five (Adel can stay).

Awesome team Joey. Think we'll get those players eventually but there are more defenders available out there, either surplus to requirements or transfer listed, so it's natural those deals will be done first. Don't see many clubs willing to let their midfielders and strikers go. We need 'arry to loosen up a bit.

    Good team bar Johnson.

Please. Anyone but him. Yes he got a few goals early on this year but look beyond that and his last period of consistent scoring was at Palace.

I think the signing of Taiwo will mean that we will no longer pursue Samba. Onouha added to what we already have is enough. Kranjcar would be good to replace Ale Faurlin which leaves us with at least 1 new striker to get.

I'm not saying Johnson is ideal, but I'd love to see a QPR striker with the pace to get in behind defences.

I can think of two goals in recent memory (Routledge v Reading and Miller v Leicester) where a player was actually played through on goal.

Who was the last striker we had that allowed us to do that on a regular basis???

Are there even any strikers out there who we could realistically snap up?? I doubt Henrique will be the answer, just yet.

I hear what your saying but I don't think we will get samba, taiwo is just on loan (very good loan as need a left back). Onuha is just 3 mil and Alex will be 5 mil tops. We still have money to spend. Krancjar, henrique and Zamora would do me. Maybe the young lad from spurs, Livermore as cover in the middle.

3 points on Saturday and some of these signings and I will believe.

Agree with all of that bar Johnson.

He is not the answer to our scoring problems. Just look how many PL goals he has at clubs bar Palace. Virtually none really. Certainly wont score enough goals for us.

Defence does need improving imo as we have been leaking so many poor goals - but it is surprising considering they are virtually all new players when all fit. Although, that is another problem - too much changing of the back 4 due to injuries.

If onuoha is enough to get everyone excited how come he hardly made it into the man city 25 man squad?

Man City are in a different world compared to everyone else. Players like Onouha would have had a chance if City were not splashing the money around.

But imo Alex and Taiwo (from what I have seen) would be better signings - but Onouha is definatley worth signing as he will improve the squad.

Bent would cost far too much surely? Surely well out of our reach anyway?

It is a case of letting less goals in so that the goals we do actually score count more. Also if you are not letting the goals in then the midfield has less responsibility and can come forward more to provide the service the front guys need. At the moment the midfield guys are so preoccupied with worrying about the defence that they are not supporting the front 1,2 or 3 as they should. Yes we need a striker but I think that with better support and thus service the guys we have up front will be far better and be more confident. In My Humble Opinion.

It is also a bonus that all the defenders we are being linked with or bidding on are good goal scorers so we may just play them up front and defend from the front, maybe a revolutionary tactic by MH..... or as qpr1954 said.
