After yesterday's discussions about whether to play Tettey, Fox and or Johnson...here's the answer - play all three of them We could have utilised this system against Fulham and Liverpool already! http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/oct/30/norway-fa-12th-player-rule-change?CMP=twt_gu
Totally and utterly ridiculous, not to mention pointless. Good luck to the Norwegians should they adopt it but I hope it never catches on outside their frozen wasteland of a country.
You could take it a stage further and bring on a player for every goal conceded. It would have made Norwich vs Colchester in league one interesting - if a tad congested in midfield
there are so many things wrong with football yet they try to change something that doesn't need changing.
What a stupid idea, so if you go three goals down you can decide whether or not to concede one more goal deliberately so as to be able to bring on another player ? Absolutely ridiculous, the Norwegians should stick to skiing or whatever it is they do ! Mind you, they do sometimes produce the odd gem of a player http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/279746/
you go 4 down, bring on the extra player and then score. do you then have to take the extra player off? what a ridiculous idea.
Can see benefit in this for youth football, where special rules already apply such as smaller pitches and smaller goals. I don't agree with the argument that it would be unfair to the better players; the object of youth football is to produce skilled players, and playing "few versus many" encourages ball skills and close control on the part of the "few". In point of fact, except in pretty unusual circumstances, especially at senior level virtually every attack that's mounted involves fewer attackers v more defenders. Generally speaking, at youth level IMO we should reduce the importance of results-based leagues.
