Contrary to what the critics say, I believe Norwich CAN SURVIVE in the Premiership this season.

I looked back at our last time in the Premier and Norwich were only relegated by 1 point. Their first win came after a run of 8 draws and 5 defeats, and had they beaten WBA (away) instead of drawing 0-0 with them, WBA would have gone down instead

I believe this team is better organised and stronger in that the players we have now work better as a team instead of relying on one player (e.g. Huckerby). Instead we have a team that works for each other and have several stars in players such as Holt, Hoolahan, Crofts, Fox, R.Martin, who can all cause the opposition problems, whether it be in attack or defence.

I believe signings such as Bennett will cause opposing defenders problems with his pace and trickery and De laet will be wanting to impress his boss at Old Trafford, so will put in some impressive performances for us, Vaughan has been unlucky with injury and will be wanting to show the Premier league what he is really capable of doing.

Lambert is about to really prove himself with these signings. They have all dreamed of this moment and now it's time to prove themselves.

The premier league is just football, all our players can play football so we stand a very good chance.

We have strength in depth now and the players will have no fear of big teams.

We will score goals and cause upsets. Every team that has ever written off lamberts Norwich has been punished. We'll play you till the very depths of injury time but we will get you in the end.

I implore people to continue writing us off

Blackpool last season (Charlie Adam excepted) had a squad similar to ours.
They also had a wage cap of £10k per week which Karl Oyston stuck to.
They achieved some notable successes during the season and only went down on the last day.

If anything, I believe our squad is better equipped than theirs was - certainly defensively, so I would agree with the OP that we'll have enough about us to survive <ok>

I am more hopeful more than anything about our survival chances but only based on what happened last time we went up.
Most of have the belief that this City team is much better than the sum of it's parts and that PL can pull rabbits out of hats etc but until we are a few months in to the season I am going to reserve judgement on our chances.

Of course we can survive next year. I fully accept that the current squad is stronger than the last time we were there and that we can be heartened by Blackpool's glorious failure. Our main problem is that people who work in or constantly watch the Premiership consistently say that over the last couple of years the standard of the mid to lower Teams in that league has considerably improved and this is shown by the fact that the top 6 just didn't have to turn up last year against the bottom half to get 3 points. This also explains why Blackpool last year went down with a points total that in previous years would have kept them up. I think we can stay up but wouldn't stake my house on it nor do I think it would be a disaster if we did come back down bearing in mind the young squad PL is accumulating - we could go back stronger than we are now although getting out of the Championship again might be a lottery. Overall if somebody now could guarantee 4th from bottom this season I would snap their hand off!!

    QPR fan in peace:

Lambert has sent wisely and purchased some decent players. It would be nice to see all three promoted sides stay up, and at this time, I would suggest that you are better placed to say up. Hopefully the pillocks that run QPR will loosen the purse strings because we do need to strengthen.

All the best for this forth coming season......

I really feel we'll be ok. We have a manager that can take us far.

Talk of us 'doing a Derby' is ridiculous. They started that fateful season with an underachieving Glaswegian called Billy Davies, and sealed their fate with a manager called Jewell, a misnomer if ever there was one.

It's hardly surprising that job offers have not been in abundance for this duo. In fact, one was so desperate as to grasp a lifeline with a lower league club in virtual mid-table limbo. No good will come of that, as we well know, and he'll want to get back to the relative beauty of Merseyside as soon as his severance pay is decided.

You will always get that, last year everyone saying how Newcastle, West Brom and Blackpool were going back down, yet the three of them all got more than a point a game. Will be close for all 3 though. Trust me in November everyone will be calling you the surprise team and you'll be everyone's second team again.

Or put more simply, If Andy Johnson had not dived to win Palace a penalty (and ultimately a point) against us in the game at Selhurst then we would have had 2 pts more and would have survived. I still have no idea how the slightest tap on the shin can result in a mid air sumersault and landing on your head!

I still hate him for that!

Ultimately though, That is how close we came to survival. One bad refereeing decision.

Norwich should stay up because Grant Holt looks like Ron Burgandy with his mustache.... epic.

Is that how they beat 4-1 and 5-1, because of bad decisions?

most football fans haven't either, but i'm sure Grant Holt could answer this...

not knocking him though, it's the modern game! (unfortunately)
