    Just thought i'd point something out to you all;

    • Leeds United: 3 wins in 10
    • Barnsley: 2 wins in 12
    • Leicester City: 2 wins in 9
    • QPR: Already Up?
    • Preston NE: 3 wins in 20 - Already Down?

I still beleive we have EVERYTHING to play for against sides who may not by the time we come up against them. wins over Leicester & Leeds will be 12 points won IMO and why cant we do it? losing only 5/18 against sides who are currently above us shows that no one is undefeatable in this league so there is ALWAYS reason to be optimistic. In fact, the above stats show that we have to play nobody with a better record than us in the past few weeks, even after the 3 game losing streak since the 3-0 win over Ipswich back in mid-March. And we can use last night's 2-2 draw VS Norwich as a spring board to acheiving this objective.

We have had a fantastic season thus far, and exceeded all our expecations - Let's not give up on it just yet.

We can....but we've had 4 great opportunities now to catch up to the play offs and failed on each occasion. If we were to win every game.....it MIGHT just be enough......but I don't see us winning all 5.

It is only mathematically possible. A win over a rival is only worth 6 points AGAINST THAT RIVAL - top of the table QPR have averaged exactly 2 points per game - we are not going to get 15 from 5.

I am not sure YRBA whether you are a WUM or just very naive but don't bet any money on it

Also please amend your strap line - if you must put an overtly political message there at least have the grace to make it not SHOUT at us. I don't condone what Marlon did but I do not want the message thrust in my face all the time.

Normally I welcome newcomers but I hope you will continue on here in a fashion which fits more with the general nature of this board. Thanks

Changed. Nice to see some enthusiasm.

From my experiances this season, Watford supporters have been exceptionally fickle. One minute we are a shoe end for the play offs, the next we are looking over our shoulders. WE WERE NEVER GOING DOWN, but still there are peole who just wont pledge their faith into the club to take things the full distance. Why?!

Right from the opener against Norwich i've had a feeling that we could do it and lets be honest, we've had a right good go BECAUSE people put their faith into the team (none less so than Malky). NOBODY doubted how far we could go during Christmas, a few bad results and we are no linger capable? and at least you can gain comfort from that fact that you have supported your team until the end. Even if we dont quite make it.

And 12 pointer as in Leeds AND Leicester. QPR averaged 2 pts per game? impressive. What about when we went on a 7 game winning streak? Still impossible is it? Nice to meet you Leonardo ...

YRBA-Officer - welcome :) and great tag line btw ;). i don't have a problem with optimism, though i have to admit to losing most of mine now, since we're a fair way off the playoffs and have some tough games ahead. i'd love to think you're right though, and it's never over 'til the fat lady sings...tralalalalaaaa! ;) lol View attachment 2011

Good on yer YRBA - and a proper welcome now :) It is good to have you here and you have shown maturity in responding so quickly to my request

Watford fans fickle - surely not <yikes>

I am glad you are optimisitc however when you are old in the tooth like me you cannot carry on that optimism quite as long so we need youngsters like you to carry that torch. We COULD win 5 games and if we did we would have 72 poiints. Norwich Swansea and Reading are almost at 72 though so that leaves just one play off place and there are 6 teams better placed than us to get it- we are 7 points behind Leeds so need to win 3 just to ovetake them and they then have 5 left to our 2. It just isn't going to happen is it?

BUT - this has been a great season - we don't need the play offs for that to be - we were favourites for relegation but with 5 games to go it is promotion not relegation that we are discussing - we have a good crop of youngsters coming through and Malky has yet another year's good experience - to me these are all massive positives.

Hornettee_TID ;) im glad someone does, although im not sure im liking that fat lady sing! <yikes> The Viking that is <ok>

Leonardo <ok> thanks :) i know plenty of old toothed timers who can show plenty of enthusiasm, so dont try hiding behind that card! :DIf we can get a win over Leeds, that takes them down to 4 left to play and us with just 2 to overtake. Barnsley and Preston? Leeds too have a difficult 4 games ahead after that. Nottm Forest are falling away and if we can nick it at Leicester ..... we just dont know, but it is possible (however slim the chances) and thats why ive still got the fight left in me :)

YRBA - under your name you will see it says "newbie" - which means you are new to not606 - when you have posted I think it is 50 posts you get to be a "member" and at 100 "Senior member" At 1,313 like Norway you should be "doderingly ancient member" :)

Welcome YRBA, but you need to remember we are talking about Watford. The club has had 2 regimes in the last 10 years that got lost in optimism and left us in our current parlous state.

We have had a great season thanks to Malky and the over-performing players - relegation was possible for a long time and to prove the pundits wrong has brought great satisfaction to us all, BUT we need to remember the squad is not a balanced one.

Lloyd Doyley at left back is not a long term recipe for success.
John Eustace is now due a suspension.

Part of the reason for our "Roller Coaster" form this season has been due to player form and availability and missing Eustace and not having a balanced side. Putting those factors together shows that we are a minor player in comparison to every other side in the top half of the table.

Be satisfied with our achievements this season.
