Tonight's result was brilliant for us. Whilst our main focus is obviously our own club and how we play - a win for us at the weekend effectively decides who wins the Premier league this year. We can stop United getting a 19th, which would be a nice surprise following a particularly heartbreaking season (Before Kenny). I hope Kenny sits the lads down before the game, explains that this isn't just another Liverpool - Man United derby; but a game to preserve our status as most prestigious club in Britain. Of course we have to rely on Arsenal winning their remaining matches, but let's just hope this time they can pull their fingers out and work towards winning something. I'm looking forward to sticking a spanner in the workings of Whisky nose this weekend.
There's no better time to beat United really. They now have a CB pairing of Wes Brown emoticon-0136-giggl) and Smalling! Up against Carroll and Suarez.
Players like Brown and O'Shea seem to step up against us so i'm not going to be over confidant about their defence being weakened. I just hope the lads are up for it!
I just hope we can bloody well score! Meireles' goals seem to have dried up and nobody else seems to have a clue in front of goal, apart from Suarez. Where are the goals from Gerrard, Kuyt, Cole etc?
If Carroll is fit and starts I can see him and Suarez keeping them two busy leaving space for someone like Kuyt or Raul to score...
Keep the beast on the bench until the second half and then let him run riot.United won't know what will hit them.If we score first, then throw him on to rub salt into their wounds.
Should go 433/451 with Kuyt and Suarez on the flanks, Carroll up top and Lucas, Raul and Stevie in the middle.
I still think it's a bit too early to say who's going to win the league. The mancs still have to go to the Emirates yet, but we can play our part by beating them on Sunday. Don't know if we will though the way we've been playing lately.....
There is a serious number of reports that suggest our 6ft 4 beast is going to be unleashed on Sunday. He is reported to have had an intensive training session yesterday which he came through unscathed.A place in the first 11 is a possibility, but a place on the bench is likely. He should get his first start against Braga on March 10th.How United are going to handle him without Vidic is anyones guess. Most defenders are scared stiff of him.
He won't be fully match fit but he'll cause problems if he starts or comes off the bench. Suarez and him will be lethal.
I don't think he'll need to be fully fit.He doesn't have blinding pace. But what he does have is the ability to cause havoc, you don't need to be fully fit to do that,if we bring him on and he makes a nuisance out of himself by clattering into anything that moves and if he can get his head onto something or if the delivery is good and he swings that lethal left foot, good knows how much damage he'll do.
More worrying for Man United is who is refereeing the game. Its Phil Dowd, yet another referee,Sir Drinkalot has a problem with.He requested Manchester United employee Howard Webb, but that was rejected by the F.A.
The Glazers will ruin Utd's title dreams. The injuries are kicking in just as the run-in approaches. The squad depth that Rooney said was being eroded, to chastisement from the green and vomit throng, is becoming evident to all and sundry, bar the Mancs still in denial. 2 losses and 9 draws. No wonder Fergie's diverting media attention to himself and the ref again. As usual the media fall for it. In 2009, 2 losses and 11 draws got us 2nd. Utd lost more but won more and drew fewer. It wasn't the first time they'd won the title in such a way. So far Arsenal have won the same number as Utd, lost more and drawn fewer. They're doing what Utd did to win titles. If they win more of the remaining games than Utd they'll take it because Utd will draw more games and that's what will cost them. So a draw with us will help.
