i didn't want to ruin the other thread, now onto my point, some of you are telling me we're not allowed to let him rot on the bench, we will and can do if we wanted to, we hold the cards here, he's got 2 years left on his contract, we don't want to sell to our rivals, i would rather we sold to a club abroad but that looks unlikely now.

that's what's been said in the press, we don't know how much he's getting paid a week, its all guesswork.

Meth, Manchester United are not going to stick a £30m + player, who is Englands main striker, and is getting paid upwards of £180k per week, in the reserves. Especially the season before a World Cup. The press would slaughter United.
Manchester United are a decent club and the poster boys of English Football, they dont play them sort of games.
People forget that the guys running football clubs are business men, if Rooney isnt going to play for them, they will want to cash in.

United will be begging other clubs to take Rooney off their hands.

They need to he careful they don't make a last minute panic decision like they did with Moyes

Last choice Moyes said himself he was approached days before Saffa resigned. Saffa approached Jose in February but he turned united down

"I knew nothing at all about it until Sir Alex (Ferguson) gave me a call and asked me to come to his house," last choice moyes said.
"I was expecting him to say 'I'm going to take one of your players' or something else. I wasn't sure what he was going to say to me. And we went in and the first thing he said to me is 'I'm retiring' and I said 'yeah, when?' He was never retiring was he? And he says 'next week' and his next words were 'and you're the next Manchester United manager'. So I didn't get a chance to say yes or no I was told I was the next Manchester United manager by Sir Alex."

"I knew that Ferguson was retiring many months ago and I was so happy to have his trust. It was big news for the world. I can imagine that just a very close circle around him knew that and it was a big responsibility for me to know that," mourinho said. "Why do I know that? Because we are friends. If I am his friend to know he is going to retire, he is also my friend to know that the club I want to coach in England is Chelsea. Of course I told him," added Mourinho. "For Chelsea, I would turn down every job in the world."

Ferguson would have no reason to tell JM he was retiring unless he was sounding him out for the united job.

He told his wife first, then Gill, then Mourinho; he didn't even tell his brother til April. And last- choice Moyes was told in late April after klopp, pep, Jose and Carlo had turned the job down
