I honestly believe we can get promotion this season. Our defence is the best in this division. The midfield is shaping up very well, thanks to TC on that one. Fryatt will come good no danger. It does sound like we will be signing Waghorn. If he does well for us i think that could well be the missing piece in NP's jigsaw. I dont do many away games, but im a pass holder, and ive seen us easily dominate every team weve played at the Circle. We just need to put the ball in the net !
You been sniffing glue again? Positivity and optimism have no place on this board. On a serious note -City need to address how to win at home and win away. Both need to be constant for us to go up. -Our strikers need to start scoring. I reckon Fryatt will start scoring once he gets his eye in. Dunno about Mclean. -We're playing some good stuff and creating better chances. We made the playoff runners up look pretty poor yesterday, so no mean feet. -Defence is still abit dodgy. Playoff push for us i think. Most likely mid table again.
I do think we will come good and perform better. Promotion?? Maybe. I'd like playoffs but i see this as a building season, get waghorn in and a loan or 2 in and anything is possible.
I think we are still building this season, surely next season we will have a lot more funds available and get the couple more quality players that we really need. Early days yet and I'm not writing us off especially when we could still see some new faces coming in. One thing for sure, we have a solid management team that is still learning, we need to accept there are going to be some bad weeks yet. Even the season we went up we were getting tanked 4-0 on occasion, thats the nature of this league which is so competitive.
I'm not expecting promotion, but in this league it isn't out of the question. We weren't exactly favourites in 2007/08 were we? On the other hand, i feel the league this year is stronger than it was then and can think of about 8 teams who looking at things honestly should finish above us. If we can tweak the squad a bit we have a chance but i feel a lack of goals could again be our downfall. The league is shaping up to be pretty close again though so with a good run of form who knows?
We aren`t far off, but still a few players short I`m afraid, keeper, a strong midfield influence, and someone to play alongside Fryatt being the urgent ones. From what I have heard Waghorn wasn`t the man that got Fryatt firing last time at Leicester, it was Howard, so not sure how that one will pan out to be honest.
I think the reason we went up under Brownie, was team spirit,we simply had a good feeling in the boot room. Oh and a winning mentality. If NP and the senior staff can muster the same, then we get a goalscorer in,well for me everything else is already in place.
I don't see why we can't. Reading will be expecting playoffs again this year, and they aren't a better side than us. Leeds, Forest, Cardiff, Ipwsich, Southampton, Boro, Burnley will all be expecting playoffs and they aren't exactly a cut above us either. We fit in with all those sides aiming for the promotion. We had a poor first few games but we're still one of the better squads in this league and certainly capable of chasing the playoffs. Certain pieces of the puzzle are yet to fall into place but I'm sure they will. I'm not saying we will defo be top 6 but there is no reason at all why we can't be.
