<peacedove>We won our last two friendlies which is good, the bad news is that we are conceding.
I remember the last freindlies under Rafa Benitez, the results were very bad and some
people said it does not matter because they were only friendlies.
I know Kenny Dalglish is going to sort things out.:emoticon-0103-cool:

10 goals in 2 games is very positive though.

    Don't worry!

The defenders we have played in our pre-season games haven't played much before and are not likely to be the defenders we play against Sunderland. Like you have said, I trust Kenny to sort it out for our first game against Sunderland.

The problem Rafa had was the injuries in pre-season crossed over into the season so the back four was never settled, as it hasn't been in these games. A 3rd keeper and an ad hoc defence is going to struggle to keep clean sheets against any national side. And any defence would've struggled with that Malaysian free kick.

Defensive lines work more on co-operation and coordination than any other position on the pitch, so it's not surprising when you put together a makeshift defence out of those left out of regular games that you let a few through.

I'm not looking too seriously in to those friendlies. It's been a long rest, we're the otherr side of the world and the matches don't really mean anything for us (it means a lot more to them). It's just nice to see the lads in a red shirt again

I think the key thing, is friendlies are used to gain fitness and conditioning.

We have players missing and players on international duty as well. Not really bothered about the results at the minute, Sunderland will be the first time I care about that.
