Been looking on the 606 board at some of the responses to the fa date to answer the 7 charges against our club, some say (twice) 6 of the 7 charges are to be dropped when the hearing starts, where are the facts to back this up, others say they cant snatch success away from us at the 11th hour / its to late to take points from us and would be totally unfair and so on. Who said life and the fa was fair. I would not put it past them to deduct enough points with one game to go so as to need a win for the playoffs as one point might not be enough, or deduct the points off us at the start of next season in the prem. We might be kidding ourselves that no points deduction will happen, we are talking about the fa look at the diabolical points deductions they have dished out to other teams in the past, cant help looking on the dark side. Cum on u Rs
By all accounts thay can deduct off next year as fa and Prem are seperatly run. I HAVE also heard about 6 charges being dropped but not seen any evidence....
All newspaper speculation. The FA are a law unto themselves, but they must have realised by now that they are in danger of seriously damaging the game if they don't get this right. And there's very little chance of them getting it right, because, as the thread title says... we ARE talking about the FA.
Most sane "Football" supporters of various clubs spread across the leagues that ive spoken too or read about say that it would be a travesty if we were not promoted as champions as we have obviously thus far been the best team in the championship. Any win for any other team would be shamefull and reflect poorly on the FA. The fact that no punshiment has been outlined for the offence and one can be dealt out at a whim from a panel of muppets is insane. The rules AND the punsihment should be documented in black and white not decided on any given day. If it was documented in the rules that 10 point penalty be applied then everyone would know what to expect if the club was found guilty. If one of the panel has had his AM quickie and gets out of the bed on the wrongside we shouldnt have to suffer his BS!! The not knowing the punishment is the worst thing at the moment imo.
In all honesty, I cannot see them giving a points deduction. The ramifications are too much to think about. If it cost us promotion, the lawsuit that would go in would be MASSIVE, and not one that the FA can afford to lose. I've also heard that it ALL boils down to 1 charge.
I'm still trying to convince myself that it will just be a fine. They must be leaving it too late to deduct points. Clearly we would appeal and then the play offs would be in turmoil. Surely. Surely.
