Years ago Newcastle were the default "second " team for fans all around the country as we were the entertainers . We played attractive flowing football ( but leaked goals at the back ) and the crowds loved it.
I can see the same situation happening all over again ( except the leaky bit). Aside from the patronising " they can't stay 4th for long" comments, we should be able to give most teams a run for their money. Yes ManU , ManC and Chelsea will be tests but quite rightly so having been assembled for HUNDREDS of millions of pounds . These clubs are exceptional as either they have mega rich owners or debt so high it would scare a third world country. How many players would ManC have if they hadn't tripled their wages overnight? Jeez, they've even got a bloke on the bench on £10m a year who takes the huff! Our lads love the team , love the passion and most of all love the fans for what they are. Loyal and supportive.
We get fantastic support week in week out and must be the envy of teams like Wigan, scraping by on 17,000 hardy souls turning up or Everton who haven't signed players in years.
Yes, we'd love an owner who knew where Newcastle was on the map before he bought us but how long has it been since we looked forward to every game with such confidence and anticipation.........err, last week!

    Happy days.<ok>

I think the best we can hope for is 'the best of the rest'....yes we have fantastic team spirit but dont have the finances to break the top 4 (at the end of the season)....but can always hope as i would love to see this again!

Good or bad its always a rollercoaster ride, and I wouldn't have it any other way. It must be boring as hell to support Fulham.
