Really bad result for you guys the other day, relegation zone is creeping up now. Do you think you have enough to stay up? Has new manager lift worn off? Really bad result at Bristol City. Not wumming, but I see that there is only 4 points between you guys and the bottom 3 and the teams have a far better goal difference than you.
I think we have enough about us to grind out some results, it seems to always be the case that we are our own worst enemy by losing to the (very few) teams that are below us. Yes we had a lift in terms of results but I think MM's stats are probably about right (23 points from 14) We'll lose a few more and win a few more and it'll be squeeky bum time but I think there are some above us who could very easily be dragged into the fight as well as I'm less concerned about the point difference (obviously I still am) but more about the numbers of clubs we can put between ourselves and the bottom 3
Same could be said about Norwich Kempy! Who-tun has had his little run, his defensive style has been found out and he has no plan 'B'. Which is what almost all Ipswich were stating when he was appointed. At least with us, we are getting our transfer targets now to move us away from the relegation position and the rebuilding will continue, with that we aren't out of the woods yet but the light is shining a whole lot brighter than a couple of months ago! Interesting stat, apparently if we could have kept hold of our winning positions this season we would be in an automatic promotion position. that to me shows that it is defensive positions that we need to improve on.
Guru, Jury's out on Hughton. I think he is a good manager but very different from what we have had before. Let's see where we are at the end of the season. If he plays such a defensive formation how come his Newcastle team managed to humiliate you boys at home when they were in Championship 0-4?
Because they basically had a premiership team playing in the championship! and we had the dark lord in charge!
I think even I could have got that team promoted! That said, he achieved the job he was asked to do with minimal fuss but in reality even the likes of Roeder and Jewell could have got that team promoted
Am i pushing it when i say that even the Darklord could have got that team promoted? I would put the Birmingham style last season as on par the dreadful **** that Keane served up!
In spite of the fact they made excellent progression in the Europa League, and only just failed to make the play-offs despite a crippling transfer embargo! To think you accuse us of rose-tinted specs! Guru, your lay off for the past month was obviously not spent on research!
But their style was awful Dave, it was typical Who-tun. Make sure you have 10 men behind the ball at all costs and then punt it to Zigic! And reading some of the posts on your board he is going again like that, please don't deny that some fans have moaned about his tactics and 1 dimensional style.
A few have moaned, I won't deny it, but the more reasonable of us realise this poor run has coincided with the loss of key personel to injury, coupled with a loss of form to others and a run of difficult ties!
Also nice to know that Grunt is working his way back to fitness by taking the kids to Pizza Hut! probably just made in time for the all you can eat buffet!
Luton and Villa were cup ties with mainly back-up players and in Luton's case, I think we disrespected them and thought all we had to do was turn up!
Lets just wait until May and then judge how both teams have got on in the season. We will see who will be happier.
