Think we are getting noticed this year and that has been brought about by Nigel Pearson and his team. https://www.bristolworld.com/sport/...ZFclTc053xWdw6xJV2s_nhoBxYeFWe5QE-9Bnt0YQ0jzE Burnley manager Vincent Kompany makes glowing assessment of Bristol City The Manchester City legend believes attacking football is Bristol City’s ‘DNA’ Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has sung the praises of Bristol City ahead of their vist to Turf Moor. The Robins travel to Lancashire for a fourth time this season in what is the second of two back-to-back away trips before the international break. It saw them drop to seventh in the Championship standings but are behind the Clarets who are two places higher on the virtue of goal difference. Burnley had been afforded a days more rest after their 1-1 draw with rivals Preston North End on Tuesday evening and Kompany was able to catch a glimpse of their next opponents. In his pre-match pess conference, he said to Burnley TV: “I have seen a very good side. They have got a lot of attacking threat. “They score easily and they have also conceded a few.”
All good stuff RR - but we've been here before: Top EFL pundits discuss Bristol City's season and suggest they have 'all the ingredients' - Bristol Live (bristolpost.co.uk) EFL pundit praises Bristol City and explains why Robins are well set in play-offs race - Bristol Live (bristolpost.co.uk) It usually fizzles out. We ARE Bristol City after all..........
Plain daft to get carried away in the middle of September even if they all stay fit. A couple of injuries and suspensions would bring us back to Earth very quickly.
Did he mention our virtually non-existent defence that crumbles at the mere mention of pressure? Getting carried away this early in the season is crazy and despite the very evident improvement in our approach to the game we still have demons that need to be sent packing. Until such time as we have our defensive duties drilled into the player's heads we can't expect our potent offence to be the golden egg we so need to become a realistic contender for success in the Championship. Another season of promise disappearing into the mist is not what the punters want as we have almost been there so many times in the past and yet here we go again. Will, or can, this be a season where we can make a major step to the stars or will it be more of the same?
A top half finish, in touching distance of top 6 for as long possible would be success imo, anything more would be a bonus. As long as we are relatively injury free we’ll be fine. At least we have an identity, are playing as a team, and are all working really hard for each other, long may it continue. An example of this was when we went 2-0 against Norwich we kept at it, our heads didn’t drop. We kept playing our game and right up until the final whistle I believed we had a chance of a point.
WE HAVE CONCEEDED 3 goals 3 times lost 3-2 twice drew 3-3 1 point from 9 ..... also won 3, 2-0 = 9pts and won 1 game 3-2 NOW leading goal scorers in the champs! with 6th best GD!
cant see any reason why we should not be being noticed, or for that matter being used as an example, we have one of the best stadiums in this league where all the facilities are in use every week, top training ground; excellent youth system, sound management and ownership, really think we are in the best place we been in my memory, the futures good- the futures red,
