This simply highlights the obvious flaw in short term loans. It may plug gaps but it's totally ****ing ****e for the morale of the team & supporters. Sign some ****ing players Sunderland or come clean and tell us where the money's gone!
If the article is true then I hope Gus has a plan B. Having already lost out on Williams, Borini (according to the Echo) and now Alonso.
No, they've got two left backs already, both better, Pasqual who's club captain and Vargas. They're playing games with us i reckon, probably trying to call our bluff with the Rose link. They're certainly challenging Congerton. If it's true we should say we'll have Vargas then, one or the other or no Diakitie, then put a low bid in for Rose for good measure.
We'd be in the championship now without loans. Loans have their place and used correctly are an asset to the club (Alonso and Borini prime examples) - The only time anyone says this is when they don't (apparently) sign permanently. If we could get Messi on loan for half a season most of our fans would be delirious - and I reckon everyone would change their minds about loans. If we can get loans to help us through then great. I'd prefer a permanent signing but if we have to loan then so be it - all part of the game
Mate, there's no way we'll fill this squad with permanent signings, There just won't be the money, I'd prepare yourself for three or four permanent signings then the rest loans if I were you.
That would not bother me as long as there was an option to buy, now I understood when Welbeck and Evans came here that this would not be the case as Fergie said beforehand that these were for the future. But the rest!! Just seems they have brilliant season which put them out of our price range
I'm starting to feel a bit deflated now! If there was one signing which I had confidence with it was this one!
So what if the right player for us is available for loan without an option to buy? Turn it down and go in to the season short? Move to another target but not the player we really need? Or accept we're not at the stage in the rebuild to turn down this player and take him on loan? It's annoying, I hate that we'll need loans for a few seasons yet, and I hate they won't all carry an option to buy, but if he's the right player to help us out and prevent us from being in a relegation fight then I say screw the option to buy and get them in. Our safety comes before everything for me.
Swings and roundsabouts IMO. If a player plays well on loan for us and returns to their parent club a better player, it can only be good for us, the player and the parent club. If we sign then great, if not then no issue as they have benefitted Sunderland. I want to sign Alonso and Borini - but if we don't then so be it - we move on and no-one is any worse off overall.
Colback, Borini and now Alonso???? It sees to me that players and clubs seem to be going out of their way to drop us right in the clarts!!! Never mind plan B, I think we could be going to have to start looking at plan C, which worries me!
If we bring in loans then we should be putting clauses for options to buy. I know if we are getting players from Chelsea etc then we have no chance. However the premier league should not be allowed to loan players to other premier league teams. It's corrupt and all in favour of the big boys. If they couldn't loan to the prem young players may think twice about bench warming.
I did predict on another thread that now Fiorentina know we have £14 million floating aboot that they might start playing silly beggars!!!
I'm usually patient & optimistic but this is starting to feel all wrong. Surely we spoke to these players and were encouraged to pursue permanent deals ....... if not then what's going on. We're maneuvering ourselves into a position to be shafted, again!
Anyone else noticed 'italian media' in the article... This the same italian media who has reported all the bullshit thus far....
tbh i think florentina just want a cash deal and dont want the part exchange but were trying the hell to get rid of diakita to get him off the wage bill
