I accept (maybe a little begrudgingly) that if a sport presenter used the term City on national TV they would probably be referring to Man City, however, in the Championship I am claiming the term City for us. Lets look at the options

Birmingham City, Bristol City, Cardiff City, Hull City & the rightful owners of the term City, Leicester City

It gets a little confusing when reading a Hull fan posting about his team then using the term City, as such I would like to impose a ban on other Championship teams using the term City - From herein when the term City is used, it is solely used in reference to Leicester City

I think we should decide this on which club has spent the most amount of time in the Premiership

    Leicester City- 8 seasons
    Birmingham City-7 seasons
    Hull City- 2 seasons
    Bristol City-0 seasons
    Cardiff City-0 seasons

Oh dear - A bit disappointing from one of Hulls more reasonable posters - But OK, Cardiff isn't an English city but they're still on the list

Also in modern times Leicester was given City status in 1919.

Hull was given City Status in 1897

    So you lose again

Leicester is one of the oldest cities in England, it was the centre of the bishopric from around 670, endowing it with city status.

You had city status removed sometime in the 1200's

So in modern terms Hull was a city before Leicester..

The OP is essentially a shotgun!

I think it's reasonable to expect everyone to adhere to the rules of Shotgun.

You're a little selective in the "terms" you use - Fact remains Leicester was a city a long time before Hull

Nothing wrong with Leicester.... As I have said before Mr Perry a brilliant surgeon who works at Scarborough hospital was born in Leicester and is a huge fan of Leicester city ... He operated on my huge football size hernia when I was awake and saved my life....

    :)

Yet another reason Leicester is the rightful owner of the right to refer to themselves as City

Right lets sort this then, lets ban all forms of rugby even the **** one you lot play. You can now be called Hull Tigers and we will stick with Leicester City

    " City " to beat Huddersfield .

" The Tigers to beat Blackpool.

    Here's Hoping ...

Mr Perry also was the person who decided to do a biopsy on a lump in my neck in 1998 and they found I had non Hodgkins lymphoma ..

Well spotted .. In remission now , I'm fine... Just a **** immune system but that's nothing to what may have happened IF he had not spotted the lump..

SO, Twice he played a huge roll in me still being here ...

    ( 2 separate occasions )

Between me going arghhh loud and cursing when he took an hour to fix huge football size hernia we chatted about our teams , he even told me NP would end up back at Leicester City though I think he was just having a bit of banter between cutting me open , shoving half my stomach back inside stomach wall and stitching me up..

So, now you know , how could I hate Leicester city , Leicester , or Leicester fans in general ???

    Anyway supper time...

    Have a good week...
