Jay Boothroyd - England international last year. should get us a few goals, when he gets fit.
DJ Campbell - Second highest English scorer in the Prem last year.
Kieron Dyer - Ok, fitness could be a problem, but he's a utility player who can fill in a number of roles when off the physio's table
Danny Gabbidon - A lot of people were questioning his signing earlier in teh summer, but against Everton he looked every inch a commanding central defender
Luke Young made it to the top - second choice right back for England behind Neville Neville (who might be an asshole, but he was a good player)
Joey Barton could have made it to the top - it's unfortunate for him (and Scott Parker) that they were around at the same time as Gerrard, Lampard and Barry. A very talented central midfielder who should be in the England squad, and probably will be back in there soon.....
    If they come....:
Traore - Bags of potential, a product of the Arsenal youth academy, who could turn out to be a fantastic signing for us if he can get his confidence back after sunday's nightmare (and no, he wasn't the one at fault - the whole dammed team was at fault yesterday!)
SWP - pretty decent winger, but might need a bit of man-managment to get the most out of him
Liam Ridgewell/Scott Daan - centre backs that won the Carling Cup last season. Yes, they did get relegated, but that was more due to lack of goals at the other end of the pitch, not conceding goals.

So yes, I'd say that the players we're signing/have signed/are looking to sign are pretty good. Apart, possibly, from Dyer - depending on how long he's injured for.

I don't mind someone playing Devil's whatshisname, but talking complete crap can be a tad annoying, especially if it's only said to get a reaction.

I was going to say mad as a bag of snakes. Which I think is madder.

James, where did you do your national service? My Stepdad was in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) around that time, working as a radar opperator :)

Go Mr Jim and do have a great point I think ... Bar the Arsenal lad we are signing names as NW attempts to build a new team now ... Of course not his fault so I guess he is signing what he thinks will gel into a team with something to prove. It may well work however it may not so I share your views. Signing yesterday's players has it's advantages in terms of experience but sometimes you can comment that they have been found wanting...
I hope the end result we see is QPR and not Sheffield Utd otherwise the next manager will inherit a nice gang of cart horses .

Don't shoot me for saying this but on SSN they have just said that Kalou (Chelsea) won't make the 25 man squad. Surely he would be a good player? Everytime he comes on as a sub he scores.
    Thoughts?
