I took a look at the full table with all the stats yesterday, and realised that we are currently 7th in the league for goals SCORED. We have scored 57 goals - 1 more than Sheffield United (56) in 6th place. The only team outside the top 6 who have scored more than ourselves so far this season is QPR, who have scored 58. With 2 more games left to play we MIGHT even climb above them. So, scoring goals hasn't been our problem - it's been CONCEDING goals (75 in total so far) - in particular from winning positions (25 points lost to-date), giving us a dire GD of -18. To illustrate; in the Championship this season only Reading and Peterborough have conceded more goals than we have (85 and 84). Its this horrible leak that NP needs to plug if we are to progress next season. CORRECTION - we are 8th - I hadn't noticed that Coventry had scored 58 too. Yep, I have been saying this for months. NP has signed numerous defenders this season, and still we have conceded the 3rd highest in the division. Pretty shocking when you consider NP and CF were former CB's, you would think they could and should be doing so much better in this area.I think it's fair to say we all thought that it would be scoring the goals that would be our problem, but Antione and Andi have struck up a great partnership in the second half of the season.
