In our first 5 premier league games and a cup game there have been 29 goals scored. O.K not all in the net we would have liked to have seen them scored in but great action none the less.

The next two games, sheff wed and everton have a hatful of goals in them too.

I travelled from Kent to the Villa game - a journey that normally takes 2 and a half hours taking over 5 and meaning we missed the first 10 minutes of the match, having been delayed in accidents on the M26, M25 and M3. At half time AT 0-1 my mate jokingly said - I wish we were back in the football league, at least we would be 3 up by now. The second half is now history and what a second half and despite another 4 hour journey home after another bad smash on M3 the 80mins we saw more than made up for the 9 hours of travel.

I love the way we play, great passing and determination and there are many teams in the prem eg sunderland, Reading, Stoke who bore me simple and wouldnt travel 5 mins to see each week.

A couple of thoughts on yesterday - well done Nigel for having the balls and gamble to pick Gazzaniga in what was such a high pressure match for you, great 2nd half switch for Clyne from right to left back, well done to seeing what Puncheon can offer to the team when many (myself included) would have been happy to see him leave last season. OHHH Gaston Ramirez looks like he could become the player we all hoped he would be, Yoshida pure quality yesterday, well done to Fonte for a powerful performance after recent criticism, Mayuka looks like he will get into good positions and pace will cause problems, Morgan really is Spiderman covering every inch of the pitch and with Davis keeps the passing flowing and breaks up attacks, Lallana has the skills for the premier league like we knew he would and Lambert - well forget Wellbeck and Sturridge - they are probably names for the future - Lambert is quality and a natural goalscorer no matter what league and call him up for England.

I wont be complaining if you can win 1-0 - just keep entertaining.

Great post RAWMOK. At least the misfortune you suffered on your journey didn't enter the stadium with you!

The boat show and return of students to Solent university seemed to slow down and scupper many fans arriving on time. Was amazed by the number of police and stewards at the game.

The traffic coming out after the game was incredibly heavy and took us over an hour to get passed Stag Gates lights.
Not what you want with 70 odd miles to go!
