    TUE. OCTOBER 15th

    KO. 8pm

    WEMBLEY

    ITV/HD

After our win over Montenegro, we move on to the final group game v Poland, a win and we're through, draw or loss, and its a play-off.

Most will know the infamous game when Poland last visited Wembley for a World Cup place :emoticon-0106-cryin, and our record since. We once had a period where it seemed impossible not to draw England and Poland together, it really was the definition of bollocks, because our balls were always a pair in a bag! Our record against them is pretty good though...

    Matches.....18
    Wins..........10
    Drawn.........7
    Losses........1

They have some decent players, and we don't want Lewandowski having a good night, but if Hodgson stays on the adventurous pills and our own Andros Townsend is picked and continues form we should be ok here, he'll have to do without the familiar but suspended Kyle Walker behind him at FB, Smalling or Jones rumoured to cover.

Townsend & Jones, hmm! sounds a bit ordinary!

I think we'd do better with a ZIca or a Androa or even a Wimilla with an inski. I don't see how we can do this without an inski.

It's a bit like an ology it's good to have one on the bench.

Another cap for the usual suspects. Heard on one of the sports reports earlier that Cole couldn't play... shock horror! Maybe Roy will be a lucky manager and have a good side handed to him by injury and/or suspension, but I think without that he's just going to the same old stuff that's failed so many times before. Any chance Townsend would have played if others had been available? And I still think he might have been going to be subbed just before he scored. But wait, I've got an idea that's guaranteed to make me the next England manager ... lets play Gerrard and Lampard in the same team! I know it hasn't worked very much in the past, but I just think this time might be different...

Cole is out, and Baines is in, I hope he's given the free kicks.

At our current rate of producing talent (bar Tom Carroll)..... And our new approach of grooming foreign kids, it won't be long before our new English hero has a name ending with Zaj or Tov or Wiski..

That's one way to add spice to the line up......

As most of Poland are eligible to play for England now, we should have an advantage compared to 40 years ago.

He has indeed, but he's still treating the injury a bit gingerly.

I don't know if I've told you guys this before but a few years back my girlfriend asked me who we were playing so I told her it was Poland. Her response, "north or south?" <doh>

If Polish people are called Poles why aren't Dutch people known as Holes?

If a girlfriend asked me North or South I must admit it would not be Poland that immediately came to mind.

Heard an interview with Roy earlier saying that because the squad was very experienced he doesn't have to worry about motivation. I couldn't disagree more, I would argue that given the 'nature of the beast' motivation is actually about the most important thing the manager can do for an international team... and why Harry would have made a much better choice.

Keep Lewandowski and Blazyszskowski (sp?) quiet and it should be a doddle.
