This feels like booking the church, on the day the divorce comes through.

Jayrod and Sturridge will definitely score.

If Carrillo starts, we will lose 2-1. If Long starts, we will lose 2-0.

I’m pinning my hopes on us playing better away from home than at SMS.
I mentioned last night that I thought the team looked tense in the tunnel but I am now thinking it was fear of being barracked.
The away support is better and more consistent than at home so fingers crossed for an elusive win.

<laugh> You're on a roll mate. Keep them coming.

I'm absolutely 100% confident of at least a draw on Saturday. Well, a draw actually, because I don't have a lot of hope of us actually winning.

    Still - unbeaten under No7

As I said on another thread, surely this is a record - my 5th straight thread, but only 2 points so far :)

So at 5pm on Saturday will it be:

    5 threads, 2 points
    5 threads, 3 points
    5 threads, 5 points

    :)

My main issue is that @thereisonlyoneno7 should have used a longer word at the start of this run of threads.

Please can we have gabbiadini in the team but not as lone striker, play him as he was at his previous club.

That’s probably our best team with the most promise of a goal right now.

I hope you won’t mind me mentioning that your joke about misspelling Højbjerg’s name hasn’t been funny for several months now. :)

1-0 loss. A wayward Rodriguez shot will hit Sturridge on the arse and go in.

    McCarthy
    Cedric Stephens Hoedt Bertrand
    Romeu Hojbjerg
    JWP Boufal Tadic
    Gabbiadini

Is what I would play. What we actually will play will look much different

    Forster
    Cedric Stephens Yoshida Bertrand
    Romeu Hojbjerg
    Tadic Davis Redmond
    Long

I know I’m beating the same drum, but I would start my team sheet with Boufal’s name on it in a central position for the next 6 games. Don’t ask me to pick the rest around that, MP2 gets paid for that :)

I’d just let him loose to be direct when he can. I don’t care if he loses the ball up the field several times. It could be worth it for the one moment he gets into the box, gets brought down or opens them up. The coaching staff should be talking to him about where and when to try his magic, but without him in the line up we don’t have anyone who looks to beat a man or run at them directly. Last night Brighton’s number 19 ran directly at us and caused problems, one time leading to the penalty. Teams don’t like it. We look pedestrian in attack and that is easy to defend.

The other side benefit of having Boufal run at a team time and time again, is that it makes a little more unpredictable. Right now we are so predictable it is easy to defend against us. If we did this. Teams would be unsure whether to close or sit and then spaces start to appear for other people.

Yes it’s a gamble and MP2 needs to be brave to try this, but it is time to be brave.
