West Bromwich Albion are weighing up a £5 million for Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy, according to the Daily Telegraph. New West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis is keen to add another striker to his squad this January, and has earmarked Vardy as the man to lead the Baggies line. imo, NO way I would sell Vardy for that money in fact not interested at all unless its a huge figure at least treble that!
Depending on who else we sign I wouldnt be totally against the idea. Apart from Man U Vardy hasnt really performed this season. He has 1 goal which isnt good enough. And to get 5M for that would be brilliant business. I cant see Nigel Pearson selling him though
If we sign another striker with simaliar attributes then 5M for you 4th choice striker would be great business
IMO I think it would be good business, can't fault his work rate or commitment but he his not premiership quality! If WBA will pay £5 mill take it.
We'd be bloody barmy to sell him at that price. Shane Long went for 13m in the summer and he's only scored twice this season (both against us ) He adds a bit of graft and an outlet that we don't get with our other strikers. I'd rather see us benefit from his strengths than have 5m in our pocket. If we stay up and get the same offer in the summer then I think we should sell. But right now we don't need to. Ulloa, Kramaric, Vardy and Nugent. That's a decent front line and if Okazaki comes in then i'd rather ship Nugent than Vardy, but I don't see that one happening. Mainz's manager wants about 13m Euros.
I like Vardy but 5M is a lot for someone who has 1 goal. Only thing that makes me want to keep him is if we do go down. We will need Vardy, Nugent and Wood as I doubt Kramaric and Ulloa will go to the championship
Depends if we get Okazaki. If we do, I think Wood will go and we'll consider offers for players like Vardy. I like him, and he's got a great attitude, but he's not clinical enough for this league. £5million is 5 times what we paid for him, and people were laughing at how much we spent then!
When things arent going right, Vardy's sheer pace is a plan B and you need that to stay up in the premiership
£5m would be a good return on him. Has done brilliantly well for us, especially last season, but think his impact in the Premiership will be limited. He has had a remarkable rise since his Fleetwood days and has never given less than 100%. If WBA or any other club make a satisfactory offer to Leicester then I think he should be given the option to go if he wishes.
Everyone likes Vardy but at the end of the day everyone has their price and 5 mill sounds pretty good to me. Whilst he does have pace, his first touch is often poor, he cant hold the ball up and the way we play there is no one in support so he has to go for goal himself and good defenders are finding him to easy to read.
But to stay up you need a plan B and plan C and he is currently our plan B. We need options like him when nothing else is working because when we are playing poorly he can change a game by offering an outlet with his pace and put their defenders on the backfoot.
Not for sale, apparently... http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footbal...ews/pearson-vardy-is-not-for-sale_198460.html
I dont know really, he played a pivital part in the Man U game, but since then hes been bought on as a sub and goes out looking for the yellow card. Absolute troublemaker with his pace and workrate and certainly has something for the opposition defence to think about from the bench. Price is decent, but not for a team that are battling us at the moment, dont want Pulis taking him to the metaphorical "next level" and costing us points.
