Winger set for Magpies exit Newcastle United, 11:37, April 6, 2011 Newcastle winger Wayne Routledge could be set for a permanent move to QPR at the end of the season following a loan spell. Routledge joined the Championship high-fliers in the January transfer window on loan for the rest of the season and has impressed during his stint at Loftus Road. The return from injury of Hatem Ben-Arfa next season will push him further down the pecking order at St James' Park and Newcastle are ready to cash in on the 26-year-old. It is thought QPR would be willing to pay around ã1.5million to sign Routledge on a permanent basis and Newcastle are unlikely to deny him a move.
If ã1.5mill is the price, I say pay it now! Routs has had a few tough seasons, but has always done well for us.....even in his first stint. I'd like to see him here permanently.
Definately, if anything he fits into the system better than Mackie. And who knew he could pass as well as he does?
Agreed! Would rather see the headache between him and Mackie than Mackie or Ephraim. Dont get me wrong i dont dislike Hogan that much but no contest between him and Routs!
Agree that 1.5 mil is a snip, if it's true. My only worry is that he hasn't managed to cut it in the Premier league as yet. Personally, I would take the gamble as I think he's got what it takes.
I think he's much like adel he needs a club that will let him express himself having said that i think we would have had the tit le tied up sooner with Mackie still playing.... i cant wait to see him back...
