Bristol Rovers midfielder Wayne Brown to leave in January Midfielder Wayne Brown has decided to leave Bristol Rovers when his contract expires in January and is set to move to Finland. The 24-year-old initially joined the Pirates on loan from Fulham in February 2010 before signing a permanent deal that summer. He has made 64 first-team appearances for the League Two club. "We made Wayne an offer but he didn't feel it was enough," manager Mark McGhee told BBC Radio Bristol. "He'll be leaving the club in the New Year and it's probably the right thing for him. "In situations like this there's a natural cull; people who are out of contract you have to let go because we've not got an infinite budget. "Wayne's been a great professional. He trains well every day and gives you 100% every time he plays and we certainly wish him well."
Shame, as he tried hard every game. Better than Gill, but he gets to stay here and swan around as usual Best of luck to Wayne anyway
You lying bastard Chris you have never even been to a Rovers game so how would you know in 30 second highlights on football league show. Plus they only show you lot conceding goals anyway
gutted about this. but not surprised. im only gutted as i really thought he would be fantastic for us but he was mr inconsistant. i believe the reason for this was due to always being played out of position. i honestly cannot remember a time when he was actually played as a attacking midfielder under trolls, penney, campbell, buckle and mcghee. so i dont blame him in going. to be going to finland he must have been organising this for a while. might explain a few things regarding his performance.
