It’s not ageism, realred was referring to the 1960’s, that was 50 years ago.

Another can't win day in Parliament -

Sunak wants to bring in new laws to stop illegal migration and prevent spurious appeals by lawyers making a fast buck at the taxpayers expense.
But straight away there is pushback from all sides

Labour attacked the government announcement as merely "gimmicks", while the Liberal Democrats said the plans would "weaken crucial protections for victims of human trafficking and modern slavery."

Green Party MP Caroline Lucas also called the statement "grotesque and revolting", while the SNP said it left them with "grave concerns" for refugees.

These laws should be for common sense, and what is best for the broken and can't cope United Kingdom and it's citizens at this moment in time.
The majority of people which I'm fairly certain would be in favour of us finally having any control over our borders and who comes here legally or illegally and whether they pose any risk.

It's largely all a con and a lot of people are making a lot of money out of this at our expense while our hotels and towns fill up with people.

No one wants to reject genuine asylum seekers and those who are really in fear of their lives, but let's remember where they are coming from - France !!

The problem at the moment is like a feeding frenzy by all the opposition MP's they havent got any clear idea of how to govern or to put together a plan to stabilise the country's economy. To be honest since Covid when we got through it as one of the most successful countries worldwide battling the oppositions hindsight's and lack of forward thinking. [ they could see they were losing points by the bucket full ].
They had to dredge up any sort of misdemeanour / opposition to ... and chew away at it like a demented Dachshund with a bone from the femur of a hereford beef cattle! They are still doing it, they are hoping now that the turmoil will lead to a GE before another 2 years and stand a better chance to get in now against a near impossibility in 2025 should they give us and the .gov an easy ride to sort out our problems.
KS and and the rest of the opposition have no plans and no real idea on how to deal with the present .. WHY? ... because they have spent the past 3 years trying to gain political points by attacking the individual and not the problems we face. Take PMQ's KS starts off then then gets an answer then replies getting personal [ last week he was told about his constant character bashing ] .
As a lawyer ... sort of! ... his training is to bash and belittle the opposition destroy the character and concentrate less on the actual case in hand.
We will get no where whilst the opposition cant see through the real purpose of their job ... they really do need a new leader ... but WHO!

    Dianne Abbot ?
    Rupa Huq ?
    David Lammy ?
Or any other racist and anti semetic Labour waster you could ever find
No one is fit to govern us from the current crop from any party
No one has a plan or any gravitas or real life experience in industry and we’re all beholden to the globalists who want to take away farms, our cars and liberty and who want us to eat plants or insects while they fly around the world in their private jets preaching to us about crap like net zero and climate change

And are all better than Capt Hindsight.
Such is the malaise of our politics.
Old Hindsight even wanted us lock downed last Christmas.

What we need is PM that just gets it done and sod the imperfections. To back him up we need a majority of MP's from any party. This would bring down or at least make a big dent in the 11% and prices.

OF COURSE wont happen ... we are softee's now need moddy codling ... .......
Every worker in this country is suffering from the same inflation so every worker should get the same [max ] pay rise. But before that happens the .gov should pass a act/ law that prohibits striking to obtain a further rise for 2 years!
Of course it would be a massive learning curve on how the economy works for those that are greedy or do not understand how it works! [ and sadly for those that do and just wanted 3-5% ! ]
The soft touch which is food banks, the floods of illegal immigrants will be so much more as will be the 15-20% inflation and companies going bust so loads out of work but benefits fixed for 2 years .... PEOPLE WOULDNT BE ABLE TO AFFORD GOING BY TRAIN so no need for so many so massive job losses. To pay the NHS and emergency services border patrols etc Income tax would need to rise probably 25p & 35p in £ with maybe 45p over £40k and 60p over £100k. NI and pension payments would RISE by 7% ? In the second year [ middle year ] disposable income would likely be about the same as now as things like fuel and mortgages are higher ... mortgage likely to be 12-15%.... bring it on1

Interesting that Boris Johnson is finally calling for us to leave the ECHR to take back control of our borders, if not our country, !
This was something that he wasn't interested in whilst he was PM, despite being told by many and a lot of the public that it was in our best interests to stop our own loony leftie lawyers and the unseen faces in Strasbourg, insisting that every undocumented trespasser that comes here is allowed to stay regardless of who they might be.
Are the Tories finally waking up to the fact that they will be totally obliterated at the next General Election as things stand ?

heaven forbid Angelic .. by who?
I tend to do things in a logical order, make sure as many bases are covered as possible and get things right most of the time ...
Unfortunately we have the wrong person in charge of the opposition his training makes him attack the individual and the SNP had Blackford who being obstructive because he wanted a new referendum! so little was done to put the wrong things right.
Inflation is our second biggest enemy Putrid is the first... for a lot of economies especially Europe.... Russians are going to have a wake up call this year for Christmas! less quality gifts and less of them a few hundred thousand will likely get presents pilllaged from Ukranian homes. " Hi mum still alive, but cold and hungry, got you this little gift from visit to Ukraine, sorry about the dent but was from a bit of shrapnel..... "
Immigration is the third, the cost not just daily in hotels but the on going costs dealing with "light figured and criminallity that often accompanies some "
4th is the oppositions reluctance to knuckle down and support the attempts to eleviate the crisis
5th is the unions and strike actions and out of this planets world of increases

Not watched PMQ's yet, missed it as "forgot" to busy doing other things ... was actually reading up about the nuclear fusin thing!!!... not in my lifetime or probably not in my gt gt Grandchildrens either!

Well God help us indeed, but at current rates and polls, admittedly with 2 years to go before an election possibly, it would be Labour (shudder) who would have a 250-300 seat majority as of right now
But a lot can happen in 2 years as we know.
Inflation has eased slightly from 11.1% to 10.7% and the cost of petrol and diesel has fallen, but there's a long way to go yet and a predicted interest rate rise tomorrow will force another few million on variable rate deals into yet more financial trouble.

With inflation at around 11%, interest rates so high, and energy costs at an astronomical level millions are really going to struggle to make ends meet for the next few years. I may be wrong but I think something will have to change long before then as the political pressure will become unbearable.

A bit of cross party co-operation in the short term would be helpful with some common goals agreed

Problem being they all have vastly differing views on how to achieve things.

So the Cambridge Dictionary has kindly redefined the word Woman for us
Instead of it being an adult female human being bearing the X chromosome from birth, it’s now anyone who identifies as a woman even if they are an intact male !
    Utter madness
I don’t care how people self identify but you can’t ignore or pretend simple irrefutable biology doesn’t govern all this nonsense no matter how determined you are.

Amazing how things are kept quiet nowadays! An area gets closed off by local constabulary " as police incident" and it can be for anything .... including one could expect UXB!
Mostly between Newport and Fishguard there is estimated to be something well into 3 figures, maybe even low 4 figures of UXB's from WW2. More than 20 are dealt with in wales annually. Anything upward of 10+% of bombs dropped did not explode.. and whilst the main targets were usually receiptients of most, fringe areas would also likely get "wasteful loads" or dumped loads dropped on them [ missed target/ plane crashing etc ]
3 days of rain, with a Christmas day being wet for most of the time with little or no sunshine past few years have been for glorious dry sunny walks over Christmas!
Country file [ was it? ] spoilt Christmas for a few young kids! Rudolf is a girl!!!!
The great turkey shortage never happened! although a large turkey for a family gathering about 6 -8 was almost a mortgage job. I can rember back in the 70's when I used to get my Turkey for free! took orders for about 8 mates at work and went to local place near here for fresh birds a few days before Christmas about 3 shillings a pound? added about 6d a pound to it and " bulk buy" gave me a 8 -10lb turkey for nowt!
So that is that week over .......... what next!?
