Bit of a headless chicken i reckon but composure will come with experience. He's certainly a grafter. He's one for the future not week in week out now. Imo...
Bit nervous he's a bit of a McClean type. As you say a little headless. Like that Moyes looks comfortable with youth. It will help them improve immeasurably. Gooch looks a decent player.
He's very much a McClean type. Needs to be more aware and lift his head a bit more. Still a great prospect though. As for Gooch, i feel a little sorry for the lad. I like him alot but bit unlucky to be hoyed in with so many players out etc. Better players around him would bring him on more!
He runs about a lot quite quickly. He tries to gallop past players and occasionally succeeds. That`s about it really.
I thought he he was poor first half but much improved in the second. Was suprised he was taken off, actually. Jury's still out for me.
In an ideal world he'd be on loan at a high-placed Championship team to build his confidence and experience up for a year. Instead he's playing 90 minutes in an injury-ravaged team with no genuine quality additions at all. Gooch looks a genuinely quality player though, yet to see him have a bad game for us to be honest.
He's still got a lot of learning to do and he's coming to an age where he's either got to kick on and make it as a premier league winger, or if he doesn't improve he'll end up nothing but an impact sub. He needs to work on his final ball and when to/not to pass. I'm still hopeful for the lad, but shouldn't be starting IMO.
He had an excellent spell in the second half, Gooch and Pienaar looked very good in the second half, much prefer these two to the Man U trio who look like a waste of space atm. Early days but Papa looks like the real deal and he and Jack did OK at the back, seeing they have never played together before. I think this could be said about the team in general, and I think that was the only difference between the teams tbh. And remembering that Norwich outclassed us last season in similar circumstances, it would be very wise of Boro if they dont crow too much about this result, the premiership is a marathon not a sprint, we will get better, will they?.
I like Watmore and think he is a brilliant player.. When he is surrounded by equally very good players he shines but carrying the can today and making things happen, he looked lost at times.. I actually feel more for Defoe after today..
The fact that Khazri is an unused sub just boils my ****. I'm afraid at the minute Watmore is at best an impact sub. I do like him though.
Khazri is without a doubt one of our best players he was massive for us last season and now he is behind watmore and gooch its ****ing bollocks total bollocks
Watmore is not Prem winger, certainly not at this stage. As mentioned an impact sub at best. What worries me more is Moyes telling everyone to expect a relegation battle 2 games in. Doubt he mentioned that in the interview. Saying he only has youngsters when Lens an Khazri are available is just crazy.
This is what you get with a change of manager, but after making a big impact Khazri has lost his way a bit and needs to appply himself in the right way and will be back, in the game today both Watmore and Gooch played very well imo. and deserve to be involved.
Don't get me wrong mate I think gooch is top notch but I believe watmore is a sub at best for now. Certainly shouldn't be starting ahead of lens or khazri imo
I am a fan of both JL and WK and we need them to have good seasons, the young lads would be the first to benefit from this, as at present they are playing in a patched up and inexperienced side, and they deserve better. But there was for me a bit of hope amidst the gloom in the way we played second half, a decent cutting edge up front and we could have salvaged the game, even so we went very close against a well organised and settled side
