Barely played for us but hes a massive miss for us imo. To have him come off the bench with his direct pace in the last 10 mins would have been a god send these last 2 months!
Our U21's are sh!t hot mate. I fancy our chances of bouncing straight back up if/when the inevitable happens.
In the long run if we could rebuild a team around young players like Pickford, Watmore and Honeyman, going down could actually benefit us for the future. Who am I kidding, I'm just depressed as **** and trying to find a shred of optimism...
I can't work out how people think out u21s will do well. The difference in level is massive. Almost as bad as league 2. There are a few bright sparks but that league and the u21 set up has screwed football quality imo
If we go down and its still an if, I just hope we can keep a hold of our recent buys and integrate some of the youth into that team.
If we join Villa and the Mags, we look the best bet to bounce back but its never that straight forward, lets hope we surprise everybady and beat Norwich, its a big ask but not impossible, and before my spelling is corrected I did it on purpoise.
Sam thinks otherwise mate. We've thrown our lot in with Sam, so for better or worse, we are where we are. We can't put the ball in the net when we have the changes Tees. Thats where we are going wrong. Sam can't influence that.
So why do some of the other teams in the premiership have no problem bringing in youngsters, Manure - Rashford, Spurs - Alli, BIN dippers - Ibe etc. How come we don't have the balls to bring our youngsters in. Is it because they really aren't that good (even though they do really well at U21 level)?
We took two youth players off today and the wheels come off. Because they've had the Busby Way ingrained into them, they know how to win games, we teach them that from the day they turn up. Darmian and Young replaced the kids and both were pathetic by comparison. Our youths and young players are my only consolation under Van Gaal most of the time.
Tel, United have a history of blooding youngsters and also winning things with kids too. A successful model that we should be looking at and emulating.
You can't bleed many youngsters through when you're in a relegation fight, get in relegation fights every season you don't get much chance. Now is the time of season where most of the league start giving their youngsters game time. Many of the seniors can do with being rested after playing a lot of football(like we need to do with M'Vila but it's not an option atm), most teams are safe, not much to fight for or they're a Top club with the quality around the youngsters make it possible. Basically us, the mags and Norwich are in the worst possible position to be bleeding youngsters though in the entire league. Well I reckon anyway.
