John Gavin, a fast right-winger, and Peter Gordon, the inside right, had a remarkable scoring record with the Canaries, and it was quite a coup to have the two come to Vicarage Road. The promise that they would score goals came true, as in that season they topped the Watford scoring list, but the average crowd of 8,384 didn't have much to cheer as the team finished 15th out of the 24 teams in Division 3 South. Since all those years ago, Watford and Norwich have trod the path of two similar sized football clubs, indeed they have yo-yoed in concert. The club is now owned by Mark Attanasio, an American businessman, who is probably not much richer than our Italian owner. The hopes and worries of both sets of fans are very similar even in this transfer window. A comment from NorthCityCanary: Another one for the yoof setup? Surely I can't be the only one getting a little peeved over the past few seasons that we seem to concentrate on signing youth players, who will play no part in the first team for at least a couple of seasons, if ever. I understand that if the club signs enough of these players, that, by the law of averages we should uncover the next Ferdinand/Beckham/Godfrey, however the first team has been crying out for improvements, in multiple positions, yet there's barely any action on that front. I think we have heard similar from our sporting director in the last couple of days. Things seemed to be going well for Watford throughout the autumn, but the winter chill has coincided with an alarming dip in form that has seen them win just three of 12 league games since the end of November. Johannes Hoff Thorup's side have done most of their scoring on home soil - with 36 of their 48 league goals being netted at Carrow Road. I shall be at home, in the warm, watching on the telly. Picked up yet another chest infection whilst away at Derby. Second trip to the quack In four days and now on some pretty pokey AB's (the regular ones weren't working) as my sats dropped and my peak flow tanked. As to Watford... alas for me they tend to do well when I'm not there! Call it taking one for the team, eh?!
Both Imran Louza and Jeremy Ngakia have shaken off ankle issues and are available to face Norwich tomorrow
Ken Sema will be at Vicarage Road before kick-off in Saturday's clash with Norwich City to say farewell to supporters in person. Fans wishing to say goodbye to ‘King’ Ken should therefore be in their seats by 12.15pm at the latest.
I had a deterioration during Thursday and had to get an emergency appointment at the surgery. Put me on some mega antibiotics as the regular stuff wasn't working. Apparently I have to stay upright for half an hour after taking it, I'm not allowed into the sun, not allowed to eat (dairy especially) two hours either side of taking a dose. Six hours after the first (double) dose my peak flow was up by 100 and my sats back at a comfortable level. Bloody well working though. Still, I'll be staying in the warm!!
Wow. I’ve never heard of the sitting upright after ABs or the not being allowed into the sun. Is the no sun thing to do with ABs as well? Most importantly, it’s working.
sorry that you are ill Fez but I am clueless as to what you are talking about medically. Hope it all works though.
