Maybe that is as well, with football no longer cheap entertainment, as it was when you handed over some small change to the man sat in the turn style, who if lucky had a mug of hot tea to warm his hands. Enough of that, we are back again at our home, seeking to transfer our current away form, three straight wins on our travels, into some impressive results at the Vic. It certainly wasn't plain sailing on Saturday at Blackburn. A goal down in three minutes, then a long wait for the equalizer, and finally the winning goal. Bristol City also had to come back from a losing position to win against Hull at home on Friday evening. An extra day of recovery time for them. Bristol City boss Liam Manning has had a slow-burning first six weeks in charge, but after beating Sunderland last week, his side crucially recorded consecutive league wins for the first time this season with an impressive victory against an in-form Hull side. With the two sides finding some form at a similar time, it is a difficult one to call, but let us see more of the entertainment that has given us a hopeful festive season, and stopped some of the critics in their tracks. Bristol City fan in peace -A merry Xmas to all Watford fans and a great new year. I put this up on the match thread over on our site-may the best team on the day win. Another game comes thick and fast over at Vicarage Road. For some reason after the last two wins and the players performing very well I’m going for a narrow 1-2 win to city. Manning seems to be getting the players playing his way and we certainly are looking more of a threat up front- getting plenty of shots away. City will be cheered on by another excellent away following. Let’s hope we can keep the run going until the new signings arrive.
I’m going to the game! Pleased that it’s a 3pm kick off, we seem to have had lots of early Boxing Day games in recent years. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going, although I think we were fairly fortunate against Blackburn.
I have a ticket for the return next month. Hive Live tomorrow I think is most likely, Mrs Fez has possibly overdone it today (no, not like that: Xmas following RT and chemo is draining) she's a real star but she may need some looking after tomorrow. We got the day done, that was most important to us!
Family get together today so suspect we will still be eating may not be able to sneak off anyway. Enjoy the game if you can catch it.
