I know that one should not read too much into preseason games when players are getting minutes under their belts and youngsters are being given an opportunity. However, losing 1-3 to a First Division team will not help to restore the players' confidence after a disastrous relegation season nor will it increase confidence in the methods of a new head coach.
Never felt that Perica was given a proper go. Mind you he got himself sent off in a silly manner so his attitude was obviously suspect.
Ivic is probably a good manager really but the players didn’t take to him and he was very negative in his style of football . As for the current one - well has probably found out we don’t have an “excellent squad “ And we need a few new players!
He wasn’t a ‘Watford player’ imho. He had an excellent role model there in Deeney, whom he had apparently approached for advice, which he promptly ignored, and acted like a total arse.
John Joshua McKiernan is a 20 year old midfielder, who joined Watford from Andover Town in 2018. He has represented Northern Ireland at U-20 level. He has been on loan at Bohemian F.C. since January 2022, but spent most of the time on the bench and barely played for them.
