Watford have boosted their attacking options with the loan signing of Swansea City striker Craig Beattie. Beattie has not featured for the Swans this season due to an ankle injury, although he did return to action two months head of schedule at the beginning of the month. The Scot has been limited to reserve team football since his return and former Hornetsâ boss Brendan Rodgers has allowed the striker to join the Championship club on loan until January 8. Beattie has spent much of his career on the bench, making just 78 starts and 109 substitute appearances since his debut in 2003. The 27-year-old, who has scored 36 goals during his eight-year career, came through the ranks at Celtic and then spending two years at West Bromwich Albion before his move to Swansea City in August 2009. He also had loan spells at Preston North End, Crystal Palace and Sheffield United
I like how the artice states boosted their attacking options and then goes onto say scored 36 goals during his eight-year career Good luck to him i say.. Only person who will miss him is the bookies in Skewen..
He's an enigma for sure. Scored one of the goals of the season v Ipswich but then he's a carthorse other times. Good luck to him. Not convinced he'd ever have got a game with us as we've got Dobbie, Lita, Moore and even Sinclair who can play up front if Graham gets injured.
Yes best of luck to him, he'll be needing it with his injury record, I'm over the moon he's gone out on loan!! The miserable git........................... please log in to view this image
Beatie will score lots of goals for Watford, he will then sign for them or another club and get injured for the best part of his contract! Apparently we signed him because we guzumped Crystal Palace by giving him 7k a week instead of the lesser offer they were preparing. I actually think THEY guzumped us!! either Beatie is the worlds most unluckiest footballer or he knows how to get the most money for minimum effort, ive seen him play awesome for us so he has talent its just the application of that talent and his fitness thats the problem. I hope he does well at watford , not sure if he is genuine or not but best of luck to him there
I feel bad for him that it hasn't worked here...A good guy, and a good football player at times as well. Not really in Rodgers thingking is he...Allthough he has looked fantastic in the reserves....It could give some of our youth players some reserve game time
No thank goodness, and he's not in mine either!............................ please log in to view this image
lol - come on, he's not been fit enough to be in anyone's thinking really has he.......... I think we should have a sweep stake on how quickly he'll be injured and back with us... I give him erm 2 weeks...
Beattie, meantime, saw his Watford career get off to a false start at the weekend. After signing last week, the Scot had been expected to make his Hornets debut in the 3-2 win over Peterborough at Vicarage Road, but missed the game because of a tight hamstring... Thats the ticket Craig, start as you mean to go on....
