Watering the pitch

    Can anyone explain the reason for watering the pitch right up until kick off? yesterday and vs Cardiff the sprinklers were running even while the players were out waiting for the kick off, they are also running at half time with players having to dodge the spray.

    At the start of the Cardiff game there was a lot of spray coming off the ball as it rolled along the ground it was so wet - is it just me that is completely puzzled by this? <confused><confused><confused>
