Watching the great Rod Stewart cry when Celtic beat barca reminded me of the times i have shed a tear or two at the old vetch.....one occasion when i was suppose to be doing my job of crowd control and we were 20minutes from going out of the league and Thomas scored that wonder goal and we won 4-2 against Hull....we were saved and i lost it and broke down and cried tears of joy.....another time when a crowd of us gathered at the vetch every single day with banners and chants of get petty out and we were supported by the rest of the players who were released by the club. We won and that shyster left my beloved club and again i shed a tear.......Have any of you openly cried when something has happened at the club......
When the Swans walked out at the old Wembley stadium in their white shirts for the Auto Glass final against Huddersfield, never thought I'd see my team perform there and it got me bleary eyed, also at the final whistle at the Hull game was so emotional. Standing on the pitch after that game phoning my brother on holiday in Dorset with the news we both were choaked up.
Ye been there lads at the old vetch back in 64 when we reached the 1/4 final of fa cup, also when Wales beat Samora, dont think that is spelt right in a R/L game I was home from aussie and boy did I cry.
i was annoyed when i heard a comment about rod Stuart crying and was mocking him and had to chip in that it takes a man to show his emotions towards something he is passionate about and nobody can deny the passion rod has for football in general especially celtic and Scottish football......respect to that man i say...
I used to cry whenever I saw Steve Torpey shaping to shoot... when he tried to pass... whenever he tried to hold the ball up... the 90s were a difficult time.
Nothing wrong with crying, football is all about emotions both highs and lows. I wonder how many of us here shed a little tear after the last game at the Vetch against Wrexham. I also wonder how many of the buggers on here took bloody big chunks of the field home too after that match
From a slightly different slant on it, I always get a tear in the eye when there's a minute silence at a game, even if it's for the opposition. I find the respect shown overwhelming. I did actually break down during the minute silence for the miners last season though as the youngest of them (Garry Jenkins) was a good friend of mine
A couple of times I think. First when it looked like the Swans were dead and buried mid-eighties, from a financial POV...before Doug Sharpe came in with a rescue package. The second was the playoff at wembley, simply because it was hard to believe that the club I loved, one that had survived 2near misses financially and nearly dropping out of the league, was going to be the first Welsh club in the Premier league!
