    ... isn't it great?

Still resisting pinching myself in case I wake up and it's all a dream! <laugh>

In terms of the strap line ... never thought I'd see the day when a Leicester City forward set a Premier League scoring record - Jamie Vardy has now scored THE MOST goals consecutively in a single Premiership season - Wow! - some feat.

... what's more this is no fluke - thoroughly deserved - and the manager of our latest opponents, Quique Flores, has labelled him the 'best striker' that Watfod have faced this season :-

    http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...er-we-ve-faced-by-quique-flores-a6726296.html

Huge credit must go to Claudio Ranieri - he has backed Vards from the off (and Mahrez for that matter) - I've admitted that I had reservations about his opening game starting line-up ... wasn't sure that Vards was our best striker option - how wrong was I. To me it demonstrates that Ranieri (so far) is incredibly astute in his observations, selections, tactics and indeed substitutions - he ges the best out of what he has but also enables raw talent to achieve its' potential - in fairmess his career as a manager is littered with similar stories at the clubs he has been at.

Currently I'm feeling like the cat that has got the cream - fanatastic owners (dignified humble and polite) - great manager (charismatic and astute) - amazing team (vibrant flowing football - exciting individuals - tangible togetherness - fabulous team ethos) ...

Never thought to see days like these - long may it continue

Forza Claudio, Forza Leicester City, Forza King Power!

Only real negative about us at the minute is a leaky defence

But apart from that Claudio has got everything spot on. I will admit I was wrong when he was appointed. I had my doubts which was justified at the time but Claudio has proven me wrong

    Well said, Proud.

It's not only Vardy's pace that gets him the goals, it's also his tremendous first touch. The way he controlled that ball out of the air for the penalty on Saturday was worthy of Messi. And that wasn't the first time he's showed that side of his game. And then there's the way in which he retains full control of the ball while going at full tilt and retains his composure. His speed may be God given, but the rest is down to pure hard work and practice.

According to Talk-sport's West Ham supporting knowledge box Moose, Vardy had a poor game on Saturday, and he should not count that goal has he his not the regular penalty taker! what a toss pot. I wonder if he would have said the same if it was a West Ham player going for a goal scoring record.

Now Jamba ... the Moose has a point ... no doubt this will now have come to the FA's attention and Saturday's result will, retrpectively, be corrected to a 1-1 draw <doh>...

The bloke is a plum ... Vardy played well against a very solid Watford back line that has one of the top defensive records in the league this season ... I thought he was a little hard done to by a couple of offside flags in the first half hence his petulant gesture to the lino on the next one (when the lino actually got it right) ..

... he thoroughly deserved his goal - sublime skill, took the clattering and then stepped up to the mark when presented with the opportunity ...

Vardy didn't play particularly brilliantly (to his standards) yet he still could have had 2 or 3.

He's unplayable at the moment. It's ****ing superb to watch.

Not so much wrong Proud, more likely misinformed by people supposedly in the know, aka Pundits , as I indeed admit I was a little fearful if I'm honest.... A step into the unknown !

tbf the immediate post appointment negativity got my back-up a bit (as you might just have noticed <laugh>) ... talk about blinkered views ... the bloke had managed some of the top teams in the top leagues in Europe over a prolongued period and in almost every case with considerable success (if not trophies - but oh so close)...

The only fans with any legitimate 'informed' opinion about his managerial acumen in this country were those of Chelsea, who were almost universal in their praise, many acknowledging that Mourinho's first title winning side was fundamentally put togeher by Ranieri ...

Yet the 'Tinkerman' tag from some members of the press created something of a feeding frenzy of criticism and negativity ... in reality, Ranieri is a thinker rather than a tinker - one of the pioneers of squad rotation - his nemesis was one Champions League game where he threw caution to the wind in an attempt to rescue a game ... what's actually wrong with that when you think about it? ... fortune favours the brave ... as we found out at the back end of last season.

Some labelled him a backward step, too old, a dinosaur - whilst at the same time touting Gus Hiddink for every top job coming available - Hiddink is actually 5 years older than Ranieri <doh>

I did find it particularly disappointing that some of our own fans jumped on that bandwagon even before a ball had been kicked in anger ... but that's history now, the man has been an incredible breath of fresh air... and his persona and philosophy are all but infectuous ... and surely there is not a Leicester City fan on this earth that is not walking around with a broad grin right now? ... yes there are challenges ahead for sure, but this team looks capable of giving any team in this league a real game.
