Almost 3 years ago a manager was sacked following âa torrid run of resultsâ - just two wins in the first 13 games. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/15975008 30th Nov 2011 table: http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/...ate=1322352000000&tableView=CURRENT_STANDINGS With his current team playing Manchester United away next week thereâs a good chance he will be on exactly the same wins tally of P13, W2 as 26th November 2011. Surely he wonât suffer the same fate? As the best manager we've had I hope not. 23rd Nov 2014 table: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table
Steve Bruce is safe and must have had some really involved discussions with Mr Allam regarding our strike force. The Club seems to carry the curse of "strikers who cannot score". We have had Altidore, Simpson, Graham, Proschwitz and Sagbo and whilst Jelly and Abel are an improvement they are not scoring anywhere near enough. We have the defence and midfield but desperately need some clout up front.
Seriously mate give it a rest. Jelavic was great last night but had it tough in the second half when he was left isolated. He has 4 goals from 6 shots, that's ridiculously efficient.
So he's had 6 shots in 8 games. So, in at least 2 games, he didn't have a shot at all? Is that what you are telling me?
Agreed. Steve Bruce has no worries over his job. A few wums / egg chasers were giving the clueless Matt Dean something to read out. Dean will read out any old rubbish to get a reaction.
Your comments about the strikers are fairly nonsensical just seen the same on another thread, the key factor yesterday was going down to ten men.
That's his job, he has to spark a debate so picks controversial opinions, same as every phone in that has ever existed.
No offence mate but that's a piss poor. You need to take the whole situation into account Bruce was sacked for picking up just 31 points from a possible 93 in in 2011. This after picking up 50 points the year before. This after spending 35 million in 2011, 17 million in 2010 and 30 million in 2009. He brought 82 million pounds worth of players in a three year period, built a good team then devolved it(Bought and/or sold Henderson, Cana and Bent and Gyan, replaced them with Connor Wickham, Ji Dong Won, Craig Gardner and David f**ing Vaughn), Turning us from a free scoring top ten/mid table team to a team who couldn't score and relegation candidates. I don't think you're in that sort situation yet. The two certainly are not comparable at present. Our chairman recognised the quality of the squad compared to our bank balance and wage bill(which was over 90% of out income) and decided he'd taken us as far as he could. Then set about undoing Bruce and more so Quinn's mistakes. We broke even this summer for the first time since Short bought the club(worth noting that when Short bought the club Quinn stayed on as chairman). That's how bad the situation has been. We've had to accept a 0 net spend the last few seasons, flirting with relegation while we were undoing the mistakes, and that's only thanks to the increase in TV money otherwise we'd still be screwed for seasons to come. Bruce and Quinn wrecked my club, they both had to go. Which is a shame as they both brought good times, for a while. I've said Bruce will only take you so far but to sack him at the moment would be extremely harsh on him and I'd have his back with any gripe he had with you(oh he'd have gripe with you). Not sure what his contract situation is but I wouldn't offer him a new deal when it expires. I'd move on and find somebody who can work on a budget and install a sensible philosophy at the the club. But ultimately it's your chairman's behavior you should be worried about at the moment, not Brucie. Brucie will spend like no tomorrow if he's given the money like most managers would.
Yes, I get your signature but you are taking things far too seriously. You will find this very therapeutic:
You have a Hattie though I'll edit it though as it hardly a salient point, forgot you focus on the irrelevant parts of posts.
Its his job to read out any old rubbish is it ? I tune into the local BBC radio sports programme after every away game on my drive home and no-one reads out, parrot fashion, the amount of negative rubbish and obvious **** stirring that Humberside do. When we were at QPR, and beat them, all they spoke about was how good they were. Newcastle, exactly the same, Liverpool only spoke about Balotteli, Burnley were gushing about their team, Arsenal never even mentioned us at all, it was all about them, and you get this everywhere. Here, if we are doing well we get our manager tipped with every managers job going, and when we need support all we get are endless stupid negative texts and idiots allowed on air with 'I didn't go but.........'
