I was thinking of the players we have bought in the past few seasons and what we reportedly paid for them.

RvW: £8.5m one goal and two season on loan.
Garry Hooper: £5.5m bit part player with goals now sold to Sheffield Wed.
Vadis Odjidja Ofoe: £4.4m first team starts very few now sits on the bench most games.
Steven Naismith: £8.0m one goal seems disinterested now sits on the bench or is injured.
Daniel Ivo Pinto: £2.4m some first team starts on the bench more recently.

Money spent on Klose (£8.0m) Jarvis (£3.0m) and Brady (£7.0m) seems money well spent.

Considering that we are frequently told that NCFC are careful with their money, it seems to me that the club has wasted a considerable amount of dosh in the past few season. If we are demoted then I can only assume that some of this money will be clawed back through selling some or all of these players?

Fair point CitySlicker, can't argue with your sentiment.
But hey we won today, who cares?

Problem is, if we don't buy players we are "lacking ambition" and if we do buy them and they don't hit the ground running then our manager and board are a load of ****e! <doh>

Anyone here old enough to remember Iwan Roberts' first season with us?

I quite like Pinto. He's a good wing back. I'd be tempted to play him on the wing in redmonds absence when we need pace.

Yeah I don't think he counts and I said as much on the other thread. Try him as an out and out winger?

Potentially a more than adequate wide player, just not in the defensive third of the pitch.
