Washing machines are designed with parts that have a fixed term life expectancy. The parts are engineered to get a well-used machine through the guarantee period as the manufacturer's know they can charge a fortune for spare parts and most other people can't be ars*d and get a new one. The companies spend a lot on working out the tolerances of moving parts and know that the machine will pack in sooner or later. Older machines may be worth repairing but newer ones might as well be scrapped.

As suggested on the other thread, the hose needs to be cleared out and all the gunk removed from the collection drawer on the front. Do not put your penis down the drainage hole, that grey hairy gunk might look appetizing but it stinks and takes forever to wash out the smell.

As it's almost Christmas I'll try to be helpful -- don't use Calgon ! It's expensive, and in a couple of years you will have wasted more money than the cost of a new machine - and you've still got a machine, the bearings of which, will be on their way out.
Also, if you use powder, put it directly into the drum - this will prevent the program from being buggered by any powder that doesn't properly dissolve.
Add a couple of dispesible aspirin in the drum when washing 'whites' - it helps to froth up the detergent, aiding cleaning - even at low temperature.

Fixing most things in a washing machine is cheap... Can buy spare parts for most if not all on plenty of sites.

It's only ever expensive if you need to replace the motor or the electrical systems.

You ****s are just too lazy to fix them yourselves so end up getting gouged by some dickhead with a screwdriver.
